May 30, 2002 -- Frustrated cops in New York had to free a suspicious gang of illegal Mideast aliens because the INS "didn't want to be bothered" on the Memorial Day weekend, The Post has learned.

In the end, not knowing whether the men they had nabbed were the hard-working immigrants they claimed to be or a terror gang plotting to wreak havoc, the local authorities had to let them walk.

I for one am a conservative, and am going to complain when I see violations of the Constitution, erosion of civil rights, waseful government spending, dangers to my country through illegal aliens, and anything else that poses a risk.

As shall I!!! Blackbird.

More evidence that the INS has been infiltrated with political activists whose sole purpose is to advocate for immigrants and aliens, especially the illegal kind. Enforcing immigration law is the farthest thing from their minds.

If the INS didn't take time to check out these thugs then what about the FBI or CIA? Were they called?

Anyone have an e-mail address for the peoples "Office of Homeland Security". Searching the White House's web site I came up empty. Tom Ridge needs to earn his pay on the INS/ NYC issue.

The cartridge box. And don't whine about how that's not the answer. Law abiding citizens have phoned, written and e-mailed until their eyes water, and if they are like me, they either get excuses, or mostly no response.

The Founders put the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights for a reason, and you and I are now looking at it. It's not our fault, it's the fault of those we put into office who swore a hollow oath to defend us against all enemies.

If we voted once a year, I would say 'Let the ballot box take care of the situation.' Four years is far too long to allow such gross incompetence or just plain criminal behavior to continue on. These so-called leaders can destroy us in a matter of months, and the effects will be permanent.

I say it's time for the citizens of this country to take direct action to put a stop to this madness, by whatever means needed. Our Constitution needs to be restored to it's rightfull place of respect and obeyance.

If you want to do something positive regarding the illegal immigration issue, I would suggest ranchrescue.com

"Sorry pal but it's too late. The ILLEGALS have taken over and the genie can't be put back in the bottle. The sheeple slept too long and cheered too long for their sports teams instead of participating in a little thing called VOTEING!!"

You may be right. It may be too late.

In Canada, the coalition of immigrants from numerous countries comprises a voting block so large that no politician dares cross any one of them.

In the USA thanks mainly to the dems and to a lesser amount the pubs we will soon be facing the same issue.

By the way speaking of immigrants, the White House web site is in English and offers Spanish. Hmmmmmm! Why not all the other languages? Thanks to our Hispanic-Americans, Latino-Americans, Mexican-Americans etc for watering down the glue that attempts to bind us. LANGUAGE

You want my opinion .. blame the left .. blame the Clinton Admistration and most of all BLAME CONGRESS because those are the people that put alot of these stupid laws and people in place .. LONG before Bush became President

Believe or not .. on many issues we agree just do me a favor a cut the Bush Bashing .. the man has only been in office 16/17 months with Congress fighting him every chance they can on fixing what needs to be done

Well, let's make sure the White House knows that we consider this top priority. Heads need to roll at the INS. The comment line phone number for the White House is 202-456-1111. I don't know the number for INS--anyone?

When you ask how the INS is dealing with illegal alien terrorists, you will hear about the December, 2001 agreement to put 320,000 "absconders" into the NCIC database, which is used by local law enforcement. When you look at the actual record, you'll see that this hasn't yet happened, SIX MONTHS after the announcement by Ashcroft and Ziglar.

I'll take the contract and it will be done in a month.

Someday, when I grow up, I want to write headlines for the New York Post.

And someday, when I grow up, the first thing I'll do is start picketing the INS and the boobs that work there (if they can be found). It's like the ghost of Doris Meissner is still haunting the hallways of the INS.

The enemy votes to declare war, not the Senate.

Maybe you should review the start of WWII: the attack, the Japanese declaration of war, the Senate's declaration of war at the Presiden't request. It was, in fact, while he was addressing the Senate that the famous lines we hear all the time about the 'Date which will live in infamy.'

He was before the Senate asking them to declare war on Japan. That is what the Constitution requires a President to do if he wants war powers and, by definition, if he wants the US to involve itself in a war. Otherwise, the definition, I believe, is a 'conflict.' The Vietnam war was, by legal definition, a conflict: the US never actually declared war on Vietnam, IIRC.

Gee...I wonder why there hasn't been a declaration of war...

An unmapped island in the South Pacific is starting to look really good right now.

I'm off to mainland SE Asia ASAP.

The Singaporeans, for example, have an sensible and efficient system of justice (just don't chew gum in public).

Cool yer jets there, pard. I'm not argiung for illegal immigration, or the eptitude (is that a word?) of the INS. You made a comment about the Levy threads, and I simply commented on your comment. I never said that illegal immigrants didn't pose a security threat, did I?

I disagree. I don't think there is any infiltration of activists in INS advocating for the aliens and immigrants. They don't advocate for anybody, except perhaps themselves. There is much denial of the source of problems, shifting of blame, protecting of positions. INS just doesn't get it. I do think they try to enforce immigration laws, but the laws themselves are so complex and contradictory. It's like each Dept has control of a few pieces of a huge puzzle that will never fit together, and they just keep passing these pieces around. Unfortunately, to wipe the slate clean and start over, or even to split into two divisions to 1) enforce laws and 2)provide benefits, will be so costly, I don't think we are going to see it anytime soon.
