Isn't it true that hit and run muggers seldom "Bury" their victems.

The media uses crazy terms: "A foot of underbrush that could be a grave."
It was more likely a foot of leaves fell on top of the body.
Question. If it is true that the scouts or whoever came through
there a month ago cleaning up, isn't there the possibility
one of them found the ring, etc. and pocketed them?

My understanding is that the scouts just cleaned up along the immediate area of the trail....... similar to the police cadets?
