Did he have to hit the head? Who excuses himself for a while, before taking questions.

Yeah... he is little man (not so small that he could not kill a small 110 petite woman and carry or drag her body to an area to stash it) and yes a size 6 or 7 ring may fit his pinky finger. (My guess is that she wore a size 6 or 7 ring, maybe even smaller). But I do not think this is her ring on his pinky. The guys is a smuck, but I do not think he is a total smuck or stupid enough to leave her ring on his finger while he had reporters with cameras hunting him down on an hourly basis when this picture was taken. I think this picture was taken when he was accused of knocking down or pushing a camera man out of the way.

I've just checked my Condit photo archive and the ring doesn't appear on his hand during his re-election run...

Thanks for posting the transcript. Interesting. I think the cops know Ingmar didn't do it. This isn't looking good for Gary, IMO.

If you were a murderer and had the ring, you would want it with you at all times. Trust the pants pocket, no way. Put it on a chain around your neck..risky. Put it on your finger, why the heck not?

Registered... The ring on his finger seems to be wider and is the same width around the full ring ( I think it is wedding band ring that no longer fits on his wedding ring finger.) Chandra's ring is probably very small and the engraved circle part is probably only about the same size as an average asprin and the narrow part of the band is probably no more than 3/16" wide. Just my thoughts on it... and like said before he is a smuck, but I do not think he would be stupid enough to wear her ring when he was already being hunted down by reporters at the time the pinky ring picture was taken.

Registered... I guess I am freaky! I never wear my wedding rings. I have 2, one is a band for wearing to work (which I do not work outside the home now) and the other is a diamond set for when we go out. But I never wear it or any rings. I've been married for 8+ years and love being married and love my husband. I just don't wear my ring all the time or I forget to put it back on.

You should not assume that Ingmar was harmless because he failed to rape and/or kill the two known victims he attacked near Broad Branch road.

The totality of the picture shows that rape and/or worse was his intent, and that his intent was thwarted at crime scene "A", thereby precluding a crime scene "B". Chances for survival or escape are highest at the beginning of such attacks - and nearly negligible if the criminal is able to get you to crime scene "b".

The current expert wisdom is to struggle as loudly and as vigorously as possible in the beginning, and the chances of the criminal abandoning the attack go up and your chances of escape go up. A second bit of advice for victims is, every single moment be looking for an opportunity to escape.

He was unable to get the first victim off of the public path. She screamed. She fought. Both agree he ran off to avoid the high chance of discovery and capture. The second victim he was able to knock of the path and he rolled her down into the ravine, with a knife at her chin and a hand over her mouth to suppress her screams. She felt his grip loosen for a moment. Experts tell women to use a moment where he thinks he has you subdued, and lets his guard down. The second victim used this moment to pull free and RUN for her life. He could not catch her, and as she ran screaming, he high-tailed it into the woods. If he had not loosened his grip, she may have faced the same fate as Chandra. All we know for sure about Chandra is that she DID face crime scene B, whoever her killer was. She might have been one of young Gandeque's successes as he traveled the learning curve of men who commit these type of crimes. He might have lucked out with her. Maybe when he tackled her, she was dazed and unable to struggle as effectively as the others.

BTW... My hubby is 13+ years older than I, I will be 36 in July and he just turned 49 in March. We have been married for 8+ years and been together for 11+ years. So I can relate to Chandra and her wanting to be with an "older" man. But my hubby sure does not look his age, Condit actually looks older than what he really is.

What was not found...

~ her CL initial Ring
~ her keys

Are all things that would be picked up by a metal detector. Interesting.

I agree Brigette. I think he was trying to wear his wedding band, which was too small for him. You know to show everyone how happily married he was. /sarcasm

I don't disagree with you the Ingmar is a good candidate for the perp, prima facie, just as Gary is a good candidate, prima facie. However, the statements from the police that Ingmar is not even a key figure in the investigation, and that his involvement was strongly discounted when they interviewed him earlier, lead me to believe that Ingmar will most likely prove a red herring. If some no-name perp who's already in jail did it, it would have looked mighty sweet to the cops to pin it on him, so I take their discounting pretty seriously. I also don't see the cops motives for leaving the spotlight on Condit if they think they have the "real killer." My guess would be, it's because they think Condit is the real killer. Hopefully, we'll get some clarity on the Ingmar issue pretty soon.

They said Chandra's initial ring was worn on her pinky finger.
I don't think this one on Condit's finger could be that
ring either. A pinky ring of Chandra's wouldn't
fit the pinky of Condit.

One question I have is if the culprit was Condit (which I think it was)
why would he take Chandra's own ring off of her?

Good catch, Helen. But is it likely that Condit's baby finger would be the same size as the baby finger on a diminutive female like Chandra Levy? I would think it wouldn't fit him.
