One of my little dreams in life is to get rich so that this very thing would happen. Then, when she *really* wants to get together with me, I can tell her where to stick it.
I swear, I get a happy little thrill every time I think about it. It gives me something to strive for in life.
Tuor the Intelligent and Somewhat Bitter
Wow. And here I thought they were completely different.
Tuor
Sounds to me, dear, as though you could use some dating lessons, though. : - )
However, I have observed many folks with money. Some work hard, some are intelligent, many are little better than twits who have good people working for them, keeping their own jobs safe by covering the owner's butt.
No sour grapes here, I am happy with my situation.
When he married his first wife, he told everyone he had finally met a woman who was as intelligent as he was. She split within 6 months.
Then some years later he found another woman who was intelligent enough, and in no time she was gone too. He is a bit of a monster even if he is a family member.
I did too; but we aren't " opposites " at all ; we're two peas in a pod.
LOL. My wife was a cosmetics buyer for Macys in New YAWK. She lived in a loft with an "artist" when we met and this ol' boy stole her heart and 4 kids and 30 years later she say's "Y'all with the best of them.
That said, consider the women that choose the dumb men who may or may not be attractive or the one is who is just looking for money and security, which granted, is important to women. That is natural. I would suggest that it reflects on the intelligence of the woman. I mean, just look at some of these women. A lot of them came out of the shallow end of the gene pool themselves. An intelligent woman, on the other hand, is much more likely to see that an intelligent man will find a way to make her secure, whether it is immediately apparent or not and will also be able to make himself attractive to her because of who he is and NOT just because of what he looks like.
As a result, too many men feel deprived if they can't find a woman like the unrealistic images they see everywhere. And then real-life women feel like they can never measure up. It's sad.
Thirty-five years and one child later, my husband and I are happily wed. It's the " best friend " thing and shared interests !
I don't claim that men don't care about looks at all, only that it's at LEAST equal on both sides of the fence, if not worse for the men. I have years of empirical evidence from my own life showing that women care immensely about looks.
Also, as another example, you can look through any magazine's personal ads section and see plenty of ads from men seeking "big beautiful women," but zero such ads from women seeking such men.
Sounds to me, dear, as though you could use some dating lessons, though. : - )
I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a joke or an insult. But what good are "lessons" (do they even exist?) when the women won't talk to you in the first place?
I am neither jealous, nor is this Marxist cant. (Sheesh!)
My comments are based on observation. You leave out the third-generation rich kid who fritters away the family fortune. The qualifier was wealthy, not respectable.
The Cocaine Cartels are composed of families who are wealthy, commonly gracious people who are ruthlessly unscrupulous.
To which "best schools" do you refer? Stanford? Harvard? The Ivy League? The bulwarks of modern liberalism? 'Nuff said.
Please note I did not accuse all rich people of being unscrupulous, nor did I say they were all drooling slackjawed inbred nosepickers from the shallow end of the gene pool.
There are many wealthy people who have earned their wealth through intelligent, honest work. And many others who have not. Michael Milken (sp?), Kenneth Lay, just to name a couple of conspicuous examples. Besides, scions of multigenerational wealthy families, who increase and further the family's holdings, and who went to all the best schools, etc., aren't going to be shopping for a bride in the general population, anyway. Mother would be mortified at her son marrying a commoner.
