Bush touring D-Day beaches in France*** PARIS (AP) - President Bush is observing Memorial Day with a visit to Normandy, where Allied forces broke through Hitler's fortifications 58 years ago to begin the end of World War II.

Bush will speak to citizens of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, the first town in France to be liberated by American troops. He'll also give a speech at the Normandy American Cemetery in nearby Colleville-sur-Mer. The cemetery is home to the graves of 9,387 men and women killed in the war.***

''And I'm - look, the only thing I know to do is speak my mind, to talk about my values, to talk about our mutual love for freedom and the willingness to defend freedom.''

Sounds more and more like Harry Truman, doesn't he?

I just love plain talk in the mornin'......

It is unfortunate that the Glob did not see fit to print that Bush smashed David Gregory of NBC news for his puerile question addressed to Bush in English and Chirac in French. Gregory was made to look the perfect fool, and he now has a flaming tire hung around his neck that he will have to carry the rest of his life.

Approximately 1,500 protesters gathered yesterday in Caen, near the Normandy beaches that Bush travels to today to mark Memorial Day.

I've got two words for them....Care to guess what they are?
