What else would you have President Bush do? He's reached out across the aisle hundreds of times since he became President. The Dems were united as Americans for a bit after 9/11, but now it suits their politics to be divisive. That is the Dems' choice to be that way, all President Bush can do is continue to be the people's President, and he is doing a pretty good job of it.

Don't you think it should have been clear to him even way before Sept 11, that "reaching across the aisle," just doesn't work? He should have asked for a declaration of war (I said so then too.) and crushed his opposition (if he had any). We're arguing about how well we treat Taliban prisoners? Give me a break.

Right on. I'm watching the HBO special right now. Makes me want to nuke every Muslim country there is. Obviously we can't do that, but the brutal truth is that we are going to have to get ruthless. Before this ends, we will do things that will make international rights groups, liberals, and other undesireables positively scream. Unfortunately, our enemies will have to be hit hard where they live and we have to learn to disregard the weak-sisters who want to subvert the war effort.
