ECO RADICALS TO STORM DALLAS
MAJOR FREEP PLANNED

CLIMATE JUSTICE NOW!

At the end of May, the LEFTISTS will be descending on Dallas to disrupt the Exxon Mobil annual shareholders meeting. This is an organized effort led by Ralph Nader organizations, funded in large part by leftist foundations like Ford, Rockefeller, Pew and McArthur.

Their agenda is as follows:

May 24-27: Radical Encuentro Camp

Radical Encuentro will take place outside of Dallas prior to the shareholders meeting. Regional organizers will gather for activist trainings and to hear firsthand the stories of indigenous struggles around the world. The camp will focus on resistance to the oil industry, from extraction to tailpipe, and will prepare activists for the shareholder meeting. (camp will be just outside of Forney, TX)

May 28: The People Vs Exxon Mobil

Exxon Mobil Crimes Against Humanity Trial – Representatives of communities directly impacted by Exxon Mobil will testify at the mock trial. These representatives will also speak directly to shareholders, the board, and CEO Lee Raymond inside the shareholder meeting, as well as to the media. The following communities will testify:

Aceh, Indonesia, where human rights groups have reported that Exxon Mobil provided earth-moving equipment used to dig mass graves, equipped soldiers involved in atrocities, and allowed company facilities to be used for torture and interrogation. Land seizures with minimal compensation, explosions that have destroyed homes, and fields flooded with toxic waste are among the other Exxon-related issues at stake in Aceh. Cut Zahara, who lived near the facilities in Aceh, will be testifying. Cut Zahara, who lived near the facilities in Aceh, will testify.

Chad/Cameroon, where they are both ruled by brutal regimes which have suppressed internal uprisings regarding the environmental and social consequences of the Exxon Mobil-led and World Bank-funded oil pipeline currently being built through the rainforest from Chad to Cameroon. We will hear the testimony of Ngarlejy Yorongar, a prominent member of the Chadian Parliament who was beaten and tortured for rightfully winning the last president election and a fervent opponent of the pipeline.

Guajira, Colombia, where Exxon Mobil has been the majority owner in El Cerrejon Norte, the world’s largest open pit coal mine, and which is being expanded on Wayuu indigenous land. Last August, at the behest of Exxon Mobil, the Colombian military forcibly removed the community of Tabaco, bulldozing native homes to make way for the expansion. Armando Perez, Tabaco’s legal representative, and Remedios Fajardo, a Wayuu indigenous native, will be testifying.

Tuvalu, A Pacific Island nation and first-hand witness to the effects of rising sea levels due to climate change. A low-lying island, Tuvalu faces the threat of complete submersion over the next fifty years. The citizens of Tuvalu have appealed to countries to help in the full-scale evacuation of Tuvalu’s population. Hilia Vavae, Tuvalu’s foremost meteorologist, will testify.

Sakhalin Island, Russia, where the effects of oil exploration on the community and environment have been devastating. Rapidly declining fish and whale populations illustrate the colossal negative impacts of oil exploration. Diana, the lawyer at Sakhalin Environment Watch, and Vassily Spiridonov, the marine campaigner at World Wildlife Fund-Russia, will testify. Vassily is part of the Public Environmental Impact Review commission for the Exxon project and will present the results of this commission's work.

Alaska, where the native Gwich’in people are victims of Exxon’s efforts to increase oil exploration and drilling, specifically in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The Gwich’in rely on the caribou herds that breed on the coastal plain and would be severely endangered by any drilling. Sarah James, Faith Gimmell, or another Gwich’in native, will be testifying.

Houston, Texas, where Exxon Mobil’s Baytown refinery is ranked among the top US polluters. Allowed to regulate itself under former governor George W. Bush, residents surrounding the refinery are primarily poor people of color who are experiencing disproportionately high levels of respiratory illnesses, cancer, and other forms of health deterioration. Susanna Almanza, who works with Texas refinery communities, will testify.

The mock trial will be held at the University of Texas at Dallas (Richardson, TX)

May 29: Festival of Resistance and Shareholders Meeting

A rally with speakers, as well as large puppets, street theater, drums, and banners will be used to bring attention to the proceedings inside. The mobilization around the Climate Justice Summit will educate the public and shareholders, build awareness, get media attention, help give a voice to and empower affected communities, and create a grassroots base for a long-term campaign against Exxon Mobil and UNRESTRAINED CORPORATE POWER.

According to the organizers of Climate Justice Now!, the success of the Climate Justice Summit depends on the numbers they bring to Dallas. They claim they cannot and will not let Exxon Mobil continue to destroy communities and the environment for profit.

FREEPERS – WE cannot let this go uncontested!

THEY WILL NOT SUCCEED!

What Freepers Can Do

We can tell the anarchists ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

We need:

BODIES

Get your friends involved!

SIGNS

Get the message out!

AMERICAN FLAGS

Show them whose side we’re on!

PEOPLE

We need physical bodies to let these leftists know that they are outnumbered in Texas. Transportation, lodging and food is being arranged for those who live outside of the Dallas area. If you know people from outside who would like to come, Freepmail your Texas Chapter Leader or Ms. AntiFeminazi so we can hook them up with transportation and make their lodging arrangements. If you cannot participate on both the 28th and the 29th, then choose the 29th. The mock trial is not expected to be as big a publicity stunt as the shareholder meeting. We need bodies for the shareholder meeting protest.

SIGNS

We need visible, sturdy signs for the counter-protest. Slogans and instructions on how to make the signs have been provided at the link above.

FLAGS

We must have flags to show our support for the foundation of this country. We do not anticipate the left showing up waving any flags. Flags are a visible identifier separating us from the left.

FLYERS

Flyers will be provided to hand out to spectators with information exposing the leftist lies and misconstrued notions.

TALKING POINTS

Use these to explain in brief statements what the anarchists are really trying to do. Explain to spectators what really motivates these people and what the very real consequences have been from their previous exploits of capitalism and free enterprise.

LETTERS

These are samples of letters to the editor that you can send to newspapers in your area.

REPORTS

We need Freepers to create articles to post on Free Republic the minute this event takes place. We want the whole world to know DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS!

Here are some websites that should prove very useful in ferreting out information about the anarchists and their plans:

http://www.CorpWatch.org (Operated by Transnational Resource and Action Center, a big player in the Tides Center, which funds all sorts of leftist groups via secretive donor-advised funds. Rabidly anti-corporate, it assists in overt and covert attacks on corporations. Be sure to read its article on "death penalties for corporations," http://www.corpwatch.org/issues/PID.jsp?articleid=1810)

http://www.GristMagazine.com and http://www.gristmagazine.com/dearme/altman040802.asp. The latter is an article that offers fascinating first-hand insights into the views and plans of a major anti-corporate organizer, as well as links to various leftist groups: Campaign ExxonMobil, ICCR and Nader’s new Empowering Democracy group (several Nader organizations are leading this effort, funded in large part by leftist foundations like Ford, Rockefeller, Pew and McArthur)

http://www.iccr.org (Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility – Sister Pat Daly and others.

http://www.CampaignExxonMobil.org has a lot of articles and other screeds against the company and other corporations. The Campaign was one of the sponsors of the well-timed, agenda-driven, bogus-economic May 1 report alleging that ExxonMobil’s stock value will plummet because it is on the wrong side of the global warming, sustainable development and alternative energy issues ("Risking Shareholder Value? ExxonMobil and Climate Change").

http://www.UproarNow.org Here you will find the views and plans of anarchists that work with the Ruckus Society: lots of symbolism for anarchy and monkey-wrenching, plus links to other leftist, Nader and anti-corporate groups, including several that apparently plan to come to our event.

http://www.seedcoalition.org This is key organization behind the fun in Texas, under the banner of the Texas Fund for Energy and Environmental Education, yet another Nader group.

http://www.undueinfluence.com Ron Arnold’s site, chronicling the funding and influence of the anti-corporate and other green groups. Be sure to visit this site again in a couple days, since Ron is pulling together some interesting new material on these groups and their activities and funding.

Check out these sites, sponsored by the student group that apparently will be hosting the kangaroo court proceedings on the UT-Dallas campus:

http://utdallas.edu/student/union/slc.html

http://mercury.utdallas.edu/tidbits/tidbitsstories/040920001Forumfeaturespeace,.html -- this forum may have served as the principal prelude to the May 28 kangaroo court. If this link doesn’t work – it didn’t for me just now – try to back off to tidbits and look for an article by K. Shelby Clark (editor) titled "Forum features peace, labor, trade issues."

Are you saying that Exxon is innocent?

They polluted the heck out of Alaska, due to their drunken sailor and then denied it and tied it up in court for years instead of taking responsibility for their actions

I personally protest them by never buying their gasoline. They disgust me. You folks need to pick a better corporate citizen to back instead of those losers.

The purpose is more to support capitalism and the American way of life and show the radical left they are not welcome in Texas.

Oh puuulease...

They made a mistake, they cleaned it up to pristine condition (cost: Multi Millions).

WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT???

And I would remind you, crude is a NATURAL element that oozes from the ocean floor in much larger quantities than that spill. To think we can control Mother Nature is laughable.

(BTW as a result of Valdez, oil transporters now pay BILLIONS of dollars to insure this will never happen again - as dictated by the U.S. Government.)

If you don't think enough is being done, I hope you're riding a horse.
