May 26, 2002 -- Investigators believe Chandra Levy was lured to her death by someone she knew or slain by a predator who methodically stalked her, police sources said yesterday.
Evidence collected at the spot where her remains were found points away from her being killed in a random attack while she was jogging, the sources said.

I don't know if the cops found any leather but there were pics from a few years previous.

The MO fits her of meeting Condit. The various request he would ask women who gone out with him. no ID, etc.

I have been following this case up closely until 9/11 and just resumed after they found her remains. You have to put yourself in Condit's shoes, think about how he has lived his life and read his body language. I bet if things start really moving in his direction as being the murderer, he will kill himself and then everybody will start to think someone killed him so he would not talk about the dirty little secrets in congress. But he such a weak person, that he rather stick a gun to his head then admit or be found guilty of murder.

Among the people who may be questioned again are Condit, a California Democrat, and Ingmar Guandique, convicted in February of assaulting two female joggers in Rock Creek Park after Levy disappeared. Nice to see them identify him as a Democrat.

But he such a weak person, that he rather stick a gun to his head then admit or be found guilty of murder. I disagree. Condit is a vain, selfish coward. He loves himself too much to kill himself.

If he was compromised by having killed Chandra, do you think that foreign gov'ts or terrorists had evidence proving he killed her, and blackmailed him for classified info leading to 9/11??

The media will introduce tons of disinformation to protect their demonrat friend. I bet Condit would dispute that the media is his friend. Most seem to take glee in bringing this cold hearted congressman down. If he wasnt a congressman, they wouldnt have even been interested in the story. To them, the whole story was "gotcha" and if there was no "gotcha" then there would have been no story. The press is not interested in protecting Condit. What are you smoking?

First of all if the computer had been missing, this would attract far more suspicion.
If she were running late, why not retrieve the blanket when you got back? Why throw a clean blanket on a floor? Being a studio, and I do recall shots of the apartment, why not toss the blanket on the counter?
I don't toss clean clothes on the floor. A chair, a couch, a bed, counter, maybe, but not on the floor, by the door. And as I said if she were running late, just get it later.

If you read your Anne Rule, you'll find that these types of men, sexually sick control freaks with out of control egos and dark fantasies about being caught, do not commit suicide. Condit doesn't fear jail as much as the average person does. Condit will relish the "fight for survival" that this case will give him. None of the sickos kill themselves. They aren't into public service.

very possible.

What I want to know is:
If Condit is innocent why did his lawyer insist that he take a lie-detector test not approved by the investigating police. Instead, Condit's lawyer arranged for a private investigator to conduct the lie-detector test. Is the reasoning that Condit was just trying to be helpful? If that is to be believed, do Condit's other actions coincide with the acts of a sincerely helpful person?
Assuming for the moment that Condit wasn't sincerely trying to be helpful, what was the reason or motive for the unapproved lie detector test? To hinder or obstruct the investigation? If he is innocent it is all the more reason to take an approved lie-detector test rather than the unapproved test that would bring additional scrutiny and doubt about his innocence.
BTW, I'm not totally up to speed on this case but I read on another thread wherein one poster said that the skull was separated from the rest of the skeleton. As I understand it they matched the skull's teeth with Chandra's dental records. So it has been proven that the skull is Chandra's. What about the skeleton? That said, a DNA test on the skeleton needs to be compared to Chandra's DNA.

But if that wasn't the reason, then, what was a member of the Intelligence Committee doing there?, Whom did he plan to meet there? Another girl friend possibly? Or maybe he was visiting one of the undisclosed bunkers located in the DC area as part of his job and was forbidden by law from revealing it.

He returns at 3:30 p.m. for meetings and phone conversations with constituents. He didn't call me! ;^)

The first thing I thought of when they mentioned the knotted leotard was the SM things that have been reported. Was Mrs. Condit also into these things? Didn't she have a "breakdown" shortly after leaving DC? She may be the weakest link! I'll bet she knows something! She may be either afraid to tell or involved in the murder.
On the other hand if she was in his apartment and Condit didn't want to go to Chandra's maybe they were meeting at the Mansion to take have a "quickie" in the privacy of the woods. The blanket could have been laid out to take with her, but for some reason (riding on a bicycle) it was left behind.

I dont believe the pregnant Chandra was the motive. Pregnancy is not an issue for ambitious women like Chandra Levy. Ever! It is just a bump in the road that needs to be fixed. She would have been at an abortionist's faster than you could take a breath. No, preganacy is too small a stake for Levy. If she were killed by Condit, it was something bigger (in their eyes).
I don't agree. I realize this woman was ambitious, but towards the end, it was reported she was putting pressure on him to leave his wife. So she was apparently having the "picket fence" dream also. Perhaps a baby, in her eyes, may have made this dream a reality

My files do not show any military service for Condit.

Except that we already know that Condit required just precisely that as a precondition for meeting his paramours.I'm still trying to figure out what it is about Condit (or anyone) that would convince a woman (or anyone) to do that. Or why bells didn't ring among family members when she told them about the rules of her high placed friend. I believe that it's true, just stunning when people fail to heed the warning signs. Anybody who asks such things of another can't be described as a "friend."
