Rather, Jennings and Koppel have all had Joe Hicks on their shows. Joe hanging with David Horowitz must be a nightmare for them. Wonder if any have commented.

Good post, but I don't have time to read all of it.

Is there a Reader's Digest version?

. Joe Hicks, one of the city's most respected leftists, has defected. Joe Hicks has switched sides.

Good. It's nice he opened his heart to the truth. More and more of this is starting to happen lately.
In the end, the "best president ever", so the left says, may be the cause of their own demise.
People are looking back with different eyes, and looking forward with the same eyes. Ouch for the left!

Hicks' more diplomatic tone is a special challenge to the left. It's the left, after all, that lays claim to independent and critical thinking. It should welcome Hicks' polemics as one more invitation to reflect and rethink. Not to run up a white flag and surrender to the right, nor to whip out a sledgehammer and try to beat Hicks -- or Horowitz for that matter -- into the ground. But rather to rise to the debate and confront some of the thornier issues raised by Hicks' apostasy. Must the narrative of the left remain rooted in victimization? Can race politics be transcended without abandoning a critique of racism? Can the left, in short, get past the dusty cant of the last 30 years and conjure a proactive vision with popular appeal?

Um, no. This guy thinks his friends care about people. They don't. They care about being superior to people, the more remote the easier to mainipulate. "Narrative?" How about addressing facts and issues, instead of a prepackaged program and party line.

This writer still has a few steps to go. Needs to think about the "narrative" part.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Joe Hicks has left the losing side for the winning side. Smart guy.

Contrary to what the writer speculates, Joe Hicks certainly didn't abandon the left because he wanted to be on the winning side. A conservative black man gets flack from every direction, as we have seen in the case of Clarence Thomas. It's not easy to be a conservative black man, if your motivations are selfish and material.

No, what strikes me is that all his life Hicks wanted to do the right thing to help other people, and he has finally figured out that the left, for all its pretence to help the underdog, in reality uses all that talk about poverty and racism to feather its own nest. American leftists have butchered more than thirty million babies. That's not a sign of sympathy for the underdog.

Thanks for posting this.

It helps to read some good news to counteract the steady drumbeat of bad news hitting us over the head.

Dressed, as usual, in a dark and dapper sport coat, crossed American and Israeli flags on his lapel, Hicks gives Horowitz a warm birthday hug

Anybody know where I can order one of these lapel pins? I found one place on the Internet that sells them but the minimum quantity is 200 pcs.
