Just so all of you know... Encino has the Valley's largest concentration of Jews. Terrorism?

Code 3= lights and sirens aka A$$holes and Elbows!!!
To: mhking
For any explosion the bomb squad is called in. Even for gas.

Code 3 Emergency Call, Lights and Siren
To: areafiftyone
Possible, But the smell of gas prior to the explosion is usually reported. To smell gas afterwards is likely because of broken lines.
To get just the right mixture to explode is a freak event. The explosion is low velocity and does alot of damage but does not usually throw stuff 100 yards away. This looks fishy to me and I am usually not so suspicious.

They are saying natural gas seeping right now which they think could have caused it or sewer system. Remember there's oil and natural gas naturally occurring in the LA Basin area. About ten years ago the sidewalk outside a Ross clothing store in the La Brea area around the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood in Los Angeles ignited because of gas seeping up naturally. Might naturally occurring natural gas provide an explanation for this explosion?

Code 3" - anyone familiar with LAPD radio codes?
it used to mean proceed with lights and sirens. dunno if it changed.

Saying there is no evidence that this is a terrorist incident is not nearly the same thing as saying that it wasn't a terrorist attack. It is merely saying there is no evidence to say it was.
Nor would saying there is no indication that it is a terrorist attack be the same thing as saying it wasn't a terrorist attack.
Just because the media can't help but misconstrue statements doesn't mean it is right.
Time will tell what this is, but it seems to me to be an unlikely target, and is more likely to end up being some sort of accident (possibly related to criminal activity such as drug production).

We will soon see. I hope this is not suspicious. Unless someone didn't like someone in the housing complex.

FYI, Encino has the largest concentration of Jews in the Valley. It's like a "little Isreal."

"I think JustAnAmerican is simply hearing about more of these incidents. They've always been going on but prior to 9/11 weren't considered newsworthy enough for anything more than local coverage."Researching as I write this, and I would agree to the extent that the "news Outlets" have published more of those types of events in recent years so that may have colored my opinion. However, I am finding that rear end collisions in the US between two trains are almost non existent. Same for commercial jetliners just "Breaking Up".

Isn't it amazing that someone on this site lives where breaking news is happening? You people out there take care. MamaB

Hey!!!
Has anyone checked the local ATF office as to the whereabout of the inhouse SWAT Team?
To: John W
Even if it was a barbeque, or oxygen, or a natural gas line, it still could have been done by terrorists. With the WTC bombing they used airplane fuel. If you want to blow up an apartment building, use the natural gas fuel source available. Not that I think it was a terrorist act, but I don't think it will be easy to prove one way or the other.

Yup, I used to deliver a package in that area once a week. I'm in Hermosa now but I remember Encino well.

This would not be a terrorist attack, but could be a premature detonation of a home made bomb. This is what I was thinking.

Per MSNBC one block radius has been evacuated.

Per MSNBC one block radius has been evacuated.Man... that's one big gas grill!

Encino has the Valley's largest concentration of Jews And the Valley has So Cal's largest concentration of Jews. Hopefully, that has nothing to do with this explosion.

EVERYTHING is a national news storyBingo... and media speculation is not as cautiously used as it should be. It is sure easy to wind us up and watch us go! - I only wish the terrorists were not also taking notes.
