Could be cars gas tanks going off if they have parking underneath.

I think that the outside regulators reduce the inside line pressure to something extremely low, maybe 4PSI or so, 7" of water column, less than 1/4 psi, usually. But it is the volume...

Rod is a local treasure. He is ex LAPD and does the traffic here for the local FOX affiliate. He's very straight forward and professional.

I can't see a crank lab in a densely populated neighborhood, although you can't underestimate the idiocy of criminals. When you cook meth it makes a huge stink. I live in the crank lab capital of the U.S., the San Joaquin valley and have had numerous labs busted within a ten mile radius. Rural areas are prefered because of the distance between homes, vacant farm houses, and sparse law enforcement.
Natural gas is likely, the question now is was it delibrate or an accident.

Sure Natural gas is a possibilty and hopefully the actual cause. However I will not close my eyes to the fact that this happened less then a week after the warnings from the FBI. Here's to hoping.

Oh man, big explosion, can now see debris scattered out for probably 200 feet.

Now they (Foxnews) are interviewing a witness across the street and he is saying someone was barbaquing inside the apartment with a gas grill, so I guess a 5 gal. gas bottle blew the whole place apart.

What did the President know, when did he know it, and why didn't he defuse the bomb?"He apparently knew because he went to Europe and because he has't immediately returned.

the news people and others always rule out Terrorists as a possiblity I guess because in SoCal meth cookers outnumber terrorists by an awesome number. But cooking the stuff (I read in the papers) is accompanied by powerful odors so an apartment complex seems like an unlikely spot to choose. I once had a neighbor in a house about 100 feet from me who was cooking the stuff and I didn't suspect a thing. We later learned he had enough ether and other potential explosives on hand to level a city block. He was located across the street from and elementary school -- there's no end of selfish fools.

I don't know. Maybe a guy was building a bomb and blew himself up. Maybe the secondary explosions are pipe bombs that he has stashed. That happened in Salt Lake a few years ago.

Careful... apparently those jokes aren't funny today.

I predict that the next coincidence will be that a Train will blow upWell, with Amtrak's "track" record, this would hardly come as a surprise ;-)

Could a meth lab going up ....do this??

What could cause minor explosions??With a really hot fire maybe it's domestic stuff like hairspray, spray paint cans, etc. Anything you can think of labeled flammable ???
