Thank you for posting the excerpt and the link. I missed this when it was first posted. Very interesting reading.

Having been a child of the fifties -- Kruschev -- MAD --etc -- I was totally overwhelmed today when I saw our President be greeted with the Russian Army band playing the Star Spangled Banner. It just took my breath away - something I had never dreamed of, even during the Reagan administration.
I think President Bush was quite affected emotionally, too. It was an amazing moment of history, and I wonder if any newscasts showed it tonight?

C-SPAN finally carried this speech at 11:00 EDT tonight. [And I think we have our esteemed Congress (cough! cough!) to thank for the delay, rather than C-SPAN].
The speech is even more powerful when it is seen rather than simply reading the words, though they are plenty strong. The expression and body language add emphasis to the speech. The President did an outstanding job!!!
God bless President Bush and God bless America!

Why to you think the fate of the Euro will be different from the fate of the new American dollar which replaced the separate currencies of the thirteen original colonies of the United States?

I am sorry I didn't read your request until this morning. As you asked, here is a ping to the speech. Have a great day!

I am glad you got to see the speech. I am going to periodically bump it throughout the day, as the large thread with the inaccurate quote about this speech has generated over 1000 replies.
Perhaps a few lurkers will read the text of this excellent speech as well as the large, inaccurate thread.
