Person has been dead for over a year. Probably buried last year and erosion has uncovered it. We've been having a lot of rain lately.

Rock Creek Park is a park and freeway system that runs from Maryland through DC, and cuts through the "upscale" part of DC known as Georgetown. It empties into the Potomac between the Francis Scott Key Bridge (which is at the western end of DC and links it to Virginia) and, downstream, the Kennedy Center. There is a canal system that it may link to. It is a nice area visually but has the usual problems public places have in some parts of the country

Rock Creek Park runs from the Potomac River near the Watergate Complex in a meandering fashion northward through NW DC and into Maryland. It forms the eastern boundary of Georgetown as it heads northward. The Rock Creek Parkway runs through the park, meandering along the creek itself, and is used as a major arterial for rush hour traffic. Rock Creek Pkwy ends at Connecticut Ave, NW south of the National Zoo. From there Beach Dr. runs past the back side of the National Zoo, as it meanders through the park northward into Maryland.

Rock Creek Park is a vast area, and I was honestly surprised when police searched the area so quickly. There are jogging/cycling trails that follow Rock Creek Pkwy, Beach Dr. and all of other roads in the park. Bordering the park are a large number of large homes and a number of apartment complexes. In addition, there are picnic and field areas scattered throughout the park as well.

In DC, the park is administered by the National Park Service; once you cross into Maryland, it is run by Montgomery County. I've got pretty good experience with the park; I used to live off of one of the side parkways when I first moved to DC in 83, and ultimately lived in an apartment complex just four or five blocks off the park once I got married in 85.

I am no expert but I bet a trained dog would get a "hit" on something a few inches underround especially right after being buried. Thats why they use them to sniff out humans who are buried under any # of feet in earthquakes.

I'm going with John Walsh's theory that this was done by a serial killer of young women in Northern VA, and may be related to the murders of Joyce Chiang, Catherine Garabedian (?forget last name), the Silva girl, and the Lisk sisters. A bold predator who strikes whenever and wherever-even in broad daylight, with people around. Much like the predator in the Portland area who took Ashley Pond and her girlfriend--has he relocated to the West Coast?

Whoever was to get rid of the body pocketed the $$, and figured he could deal with the body without going to the expense of a flight over the ocean or some such.

Condit's brother needed to take a cigarette/booze break so he was unable to bury the body deep enough.

I seem to remember right next to it. I think too that in reading about Vince Foster's death, the Saudi residence is right by one of the exits near where Foster's body was found.

Why can't creepy Condit be the serial killer?

During a rally in Washington on the weekend of April 20, 2002, one of the Freepers vehicles was towed within the District of Columbia. The car/truck could not be located by the DC police or towing company for longer than a week. When the car/truck finally showed up, it was parked outside a DC precinct with 1 day's worth of parking tickets.....hence, the suggestion that DC police could not find the car originally, but to cover their a**es, they towed it where it was then found.
