Skull found in park; Levy detectives on the scene

(Washington-AP) -- What appears to be a human skull has been found in Rock Creek Park, in Washington D-C.
It was found in an area that was repeatedly searched last summer for missing government intern Chandra Levy.
A local T-V station (W-U-S-A) reports authorities are saying only that the skull was found by a pedestrian earlier today. Nothing more is known at this point.
The lead detectives in the Levy case are on the scene.

But I thought they searched that area extensively last year, particularly around the mansion given that it was her last computer hit. Weird for it to turn up now (unless it was shallowly buried and a year's worth of erosion finally brought it forth).
