"I am 15"Excellent writing for a 15 year old Andrew. Your observations are 100% on target. Keep up the good work. Most important, keep an open mind.

Walrus954, thanks so much for telling us about your experience seeing President (and Governor) Bush today. Your account gave me goosebumps! It's great to find a young person so passionately interested in who leads our country. Kudos to you!

Andrew, I hope you don't mind if I make a hard copy to give to my high school social studies teacher friend to share with her class. I think it would be a great lesson for the students to know how it feels to attend an event like this. Your account is most excellent. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Security alert: make sure you screen your books closely-- liberal thoughts are subversive.

WOW,, You ROCK!!! That was an awesome speech and your story of attending this speech was extremely well thoughtout. Thank you!
I watched it on the tube and it had a jungle of Reagan's "Mr. Gorbachov, Tear down this wall" speech. Great speech and the enthusiasm of those attending was heart warming and inspired hope for a free Cuba in the very near future. But, Castro has time and again just locked the door.
To: WVNan
DOES anyone here KNOW if they will replay the speech. I UNFORTUNATELY MISSED!! DANG IT!
To: walrus954
Andrew, you give us hope. No small thing that.

O Special Report with Brit Hume this evening, Mort Kondracke revealed imself to be the fool that he is, claiming that the speech was political.
Mort, you are wrong! I watched it on TV, and it was the most emotional speech I've ever heard Bush give. Including speeches around the time of 9/11.
No, that was not a political speech, Mortie. That was from the heart.
I envy you today...wish I could have been there. Thanks for your eyewitness report.

Great report. However, a report on Fox News tonight indicated that the "younger" Cuban-Americans want the embargo lifted. Since you mention that most of the folks with you were older, do you sense that this is correct. Unfortunate, if true.

Bumping for a later read.

I do sense that there are many Cubans who do want to lift the embargo. Personally, I am in favor of the embargo and the travel ban because of the tourist apartheid Castro practice and how, as the President said, it would only be helping Castro. I can see where anti-embargo people come from, but, I personally disagree.
