Well,McBrien may not have been slimy tonight but was instead slippery. Acccording to the New Catholic Catechism homosexuality is an inclination that is "disordered" and homosexual behavior is "depraved".So perhaps,by saying homosexual attractions weren't sinful he was technically correct but he deliberately minimized the unhealthy(disordered)aspect of the condition.

McBrien is a heretic masquerading as a priest. His college textbook Catholicism has been censured by both the American and Australian bishops. The media loves to have him on because he is a publicity hound and they share his feelings. McBrien didn't mention that the Vatican, in 1961, forbid the ordination of homosexuals, did he? The words Catholic and McBrien should never be used in the same sentence and he should have been defrocked a long time ago, along with many others.

They believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist about as much as they believe in sin.

And you know this because you talked to Jesus when he popped out of your toaster this morning, right?

...Yawn. Here we go again. There is no mystery to this subject. Homosexual political activists by definition do not believe in sin so why would they believe in the sacraments of Penance and the Eucharist that offer salvation? As far as they're concerned they are not fallen, which obviates the necessity for salvation through Jesus Christ.

Thanks for the confirmation on McBrien, Smedley. Many Christians outside of Catholicism will stand up with the Pope and traditional Catholics to defend the Church against the growing PC craziness.

After repentance, He forgives and says, "Go, and sin no more."

Promoting a behavior that is explicitly considered sinful would be considered "delighting in sin"...NOT good. If we delighted in and promoted any one of the many sins we're prone to - lying, stealing, gossiping, sex outside of marriage, etc., we are mocking God. Loving the sinner means caring that they don't keep sinning. Promoting homosexuality, claiming that it's normal and acceptable is a lie, both physically more damaging than smoking and spiritually, death. There are many loving places to get help...and they work. That's truth.

Ooops.  Sorry, darlin'.  I can't help but read reassigning sex offender priests without
addressing their criminality as promoting sinful behavior.  Morality is being made to serve
such disparate masters, my anchor is coming loose.

"Refusal to give communion is the second most serious sanction in church life, after excommunication. So it's a very rare and very important sanction that's been imposed on us."

I guess the Catholics down under read the Old Testament (esp. Leviticus) ..... good for them.

Yep, that's a sin, too. Sexually abusing the young is definitely doing wrong to the "least of" His.
