You are beating a dead horse on this one. Bush was taking the initiative to fight terrorism. He was formulating a plan to take out Al Qaeda when they moved first. You will have to look a little further back if you want to find someone to blame.

Try reading the David Horowitz article about how the left undermined America's security. It's an excellent source of information.

"The school is housing some of Clinton's papers..."

Rolling papers?

More like paternity papers.

House and Senate Intelligence Committee members do have to undergo background checks in order to receive their clearances. The committee staffers work for the committee. They are not the same staffers that work in the individual members' offices.

We knew if we could get something out there, the media wouldn't try to put the leak into political perspective for the public, just the potential for a 'Briefing-gate.' And, as usual, the press did our job for us."

I guess that about says it all.

He says he has six more years to worry about that," says the White House aide.

Good quote. Let's hope it comes true.

"According to one knowledgeable Senate source, the Senate and House intelligence committees received some of the briefing material prepared by the CIA for the president's daily review about three weeks ago."

First, the use the phony issue of the Bush "exploiting 9/11" by selling a photo taken a 9/11. This attack was intended to soften up Bush, then they launch the "what did he know and when did he know it" phony issue to knock him out. Everytime I get p-o-ed at Bush, I look at the creeps, trolls, demagogues and wannabes in the 'RAT party and ...

Yeah, Dastard Daschle your main man, Clinton, probably thought daily briefs were what color thong Monica would be wearing.

Despicable Daschle and his democrat leadership will sacrifice our security, our children's futures, our progress, our stability, all for his party's insatiable lust for power and out-of-control vindictiveness towards a good, decent and honorable gentleman, President Bush.

How many more venomous arrows in their swarmy quiver will they try to unleash before the elections? I'm thinking sullen men and women without honest ideas, good ideas and solutions to offer as a reason to keep them elected will prowl in the darkest caverns of their souls to latch on to anything to find a political strategy are indeed very reckless.

It is my understanding that neither the POTUS nor members of congress go through a background check, officially. I believe we could be reasonably sure that anyone with serious security issues would be flagged by FBI/CIA/NSA prior to taking the oath.

That's right. I think if there is a real problem case, the FBI/CIA/NSA chiefs can go to the leader of the Intelligence Committee and have the congressman or staffer taken off the committee.

Wishful thinking, I am afraid, Solo Gringo. The Democrats are alive and kicking, even in TX. I just came from Austin. I saw "Bush is an Ass" signs everywhere along with the Tony Sanchez and Ron Kirk stickers. If GW thinks he has won over dissident liberals, he should come back to Austin and see for himself that he has failed in said mission. As for Democrat weakness, look at "conservative" LA and GA, where liberal Democrat senators are overwhelming favorites in November. And does anyone seriously think that SD will dump Daschle, or even vote out his clone, Tim Johnson, in November?

It's the democraticunderground site but the Mods kind of hate to have it mentioned. Yesterday they pulled a thread related to it. Which is why it is refered to as the DUmmy , DUpes, or as I prefer the DUh's. Funny, even Hillary has backtracked a bit but , of course, she is immuned to criticism.
