From what I observed, Pastor Cole is not like the showdogs you've mentioned. He came across as a humble, sincere person who preferred to handle the problem privately, but the stripper mom took it public. The mom told O'Reilly that she wasn't proud of her job, but she doesn't feel like she did anything wrong, though she violated the school agreement-- there she was, caught like a deer in the headlights.
I think you can watch CCC on cable-- it would be interesting to see what the sermon will be. The church will be packed with all the rubber-neckers.
Actually, I can't watch it on cable because I haven't bothered to get cable. Maybe when the football season starts again I'll think about it. Right now, I just don't have time for the TV. I don't have problems with TV in general from a moral standpoint, but I don't have time to watch.
Another commentary on this mom's poor judgement. She wants to "protect" her child and she takes this public -- child in tow? This woman is too dumb to have a cat, let alone a child.
I called Pastor Cole this morning with my idea to put a peaceful ending to all of this nonsense. I offered to commit the next three weeks in full support of my daughter and not work. During this time I will look into all of the offers which have come my way regarding schools, churches, and occupations (none of which came from the church.) Pastor Cole accepted my offer and Abby will be welcomed back at school for the remainder of the year. Gosh the sacrifices we moms make! The Pastor then asked if he could share the good news with any media that may contact him. I told him that I would only be speaking with the lovely Erika Chavez from the Sacramento Bee and not the media until Monday. (I just wanted a quiet weekend!) Well in the next 5 minutes I got 4 phone calls from news and radio telling me they had just recieved a call from Pastor Cole...was it true I was quitting? I called the Pastor back and told him I said I didn't want to do another media circus and he said he misunderstood and oh, how sorry he was!
So much for him wanting to handle it privately, eh? And as far as the mother taking it public, she didn't. The administrator of the website admits to having done it without her knowledge or permission.
