This was some pretty toxic food. Wouldn't it have smelled bad if it was contaminated?

LuLu, 32, said he went to the top floor of the four-story building and found three men and one woman unconscious, with a yellow substance coming from their mouths and eyes. Does this sound like food poisoning?

What bad food causes that?

with a yellow substance coming from their mouths and eyes.Ugh, not as bad as the scene from CSI last night where a big rat emerges from a corpse's mouth.

I've had and seen others get food poisoning.
"a yellow substance coming from their mouths and eyes" is not part of the food poisoning experience.

Symptoms of cyanide poisoning vary and depend on, for example, route of poisoning, total dose and the exposure time. If hydrogen cyanide has been inhaled, the initial symptoms are restlessness and increased respiratory rate. Other early symptoms are giddiness, headache, palpitations and respiratory difficulty. These are later followed by vomiting, convulsions, respiratory failure and unconsciousness. If the poisoning occurs rapidly, e.g., as a result of extremely high concentrations in the air, there is no time for symptoms to develop and exposed persons may then suddenly collapse and die.

This was not run of the mill food poisoning. The victims only took a few bites before the became ill. It also doesn't cause a "yellow substance" to come from the mouth and eyes or put a person on a ventilator within a few hours of ingesting the food.
It doesn't cause medical workers to develop lesions or rashes where they came into contact with the sick person's bodily fluid. These arguments don't wash. Also, why are the police treating it as a crime? And why is the Church (where the displaced people took refuge) still going to be closed - all day long?

One had a small mark and the other had a rash on the arm. It was believed that the rash resulted from the victims' bodily fluids coming into contact with the worker.Has anyone else ever heard of someone developing a rash from coming into contact with someone who has food poisoning?

fears of toxic poisoning began after two medical workers developed skin lesions after they picked up the victims. One had a small mark and the other had a rash on the arm. It was believed that the rash resulted from the victims' bodily fluids coming into contact with the worker. I've patched up a few injured people in my time and I've been a butcher and a hunter but I've never had the 'bodily fluids' of any animal or person give me a lesion or a rash. What the heck would do this- incredibly strong stomach acid?

New York? Oh Miz Hillary......you should come forward and tell us what you knew and when you knew it! Did you have any prior warning? Just what did you do to protect these people or prevent this from happening? If you DIDN'T see this coming...wouldn't that make you incompetent and negligent? We DEMAND answers Hillary!

Wait a minute. I know. I know. They all drank from the same stream in North Carolina while hunting last week. That's it. Whew! Mystery solved.

Perhaps it was curry. Note the names: Omjourg Vishara ... Ataf Vishara ... Can they be Indian or Pakistani? Some curries are so hot one might not be able to tell whether the meat is bad or not.
