Who was the mole who released this information to the press on a classified memo concerning the hijacking of Airliners before 9-11? The mole can be traced to the office of Rep Alcee L. Hastings (D-23FL). Remember FoxNews Reported today House Democrats had seen the same memo that President Bush did last August. Rep Alcee L. Hasting happens to sit on the committee for select intelligence as well as the committee for International Relations the same committee that Cynthia McKinney happens to sit remember she railed on public radio that President Bush knew the attacks 9-11 where going to take place but did not stop them. Someone if not Hastings leaked this to CBS to make Bush look foolish

Nice theory, but it can't be proven. While Hastings sits on the intel committee, there are other members on the panel who could have (potentially) leaked the information. And, beyond that, most of the staff members of the intelligence committee have TS/SCI security clearances as well, and spend far more time with classified info that the members. If I had to guess, I say the leak came from a staffer, possibly at the direction of a Congressman (and Hastings is a potential suspect). Congressional members have a long history of letting the staff do their dirty work in this area. That way, the classified report still gets out in the press, without any direct proof that the Congressman or Senator was behind the leak.....

Hastings was on the committee when McKinney made her statements. McKinney made her statements on a radio show on March 25; Hastings submitted his resignation to the Permanent Select Intelligence Committee on April 11th; The reaction to McKinney's comments started hitting the fan on April 12th.

Trueblackman seems to be onto something here.

No reasons for Hastings' resignation have been given to my knowledge. The media has let this slip through the cracks to non-story status. Therefore, IMO, there is definitely a Dem connection.

Chunga in #144 seems to have connected some dots in my estimation.

Thanks Chunga, for finding that post. I spent hours searching the Congressional Record and all I would have had to do was do a self-search back far enough. duh. I did freepmail the congressional record link to trueblackman on Saturday.
