A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/15 and 5/16/02

This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...
President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.
This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.
In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.

Are you indicating it is driven primarily by superficial, emotional constructs?Geez, get a life. Your pseudo-intellectual garbage is just boring.
To: Miss Marple
I did that today and I plan to tomorrow, I called into C_Span and let that snake McAuliffe what I thought of him. When I got home tonight my wife and I watched the replay as his face turn red when I told him he was a liar. AND FLOOD C_SPAN's phones starting at 7:00 AM EST

I am seriously trying to categorize this phenomenon. Are you indicating it is driven primarily by superficial, emotional constructs?
You're no fun. Why don't you go play Dr. Shrinky Dink on another thread.

Amen, and amen! I will not sleep tomorrow until I have sent in $$$ to President Bush / Republicans - I will not sleep until until I have sent emails and made calls.
What we need is a summary - of all the things that FR members know about what happened - esp about Clinton being warned in 1995 by people in Malaysia about OBL's plan to use airliners to attack American targets - and yet him not doing one single thing to stop it!
I will do what I can in the morning to put something like this together and post it but if anybody sees an excellent summary - please ping me.

I wish I could have seen and heard that - it would have made my day to see him squirm a bit.

No trouble, really. I bonked myself in the eye on Monday and had been having unusual pain for a few days. Things are a-ok.

Today has been a tough day for our Dubya and consequently for each of us -- so let me just say the following:
I managed to utter the following words: "I'm a member of the Presidential Prayer Team and as such I pray for you every day!" President Bush stopped dead in his tracks (he was in a rush to get on stage for his speech and had been moving rather quickly through the line of 20 'Gala' attendees who had gathered to shake his hand). He looked me in the eye, clasped my hand between both of his, and uttered the following words (which of course are PERMANENTLY etched in my mind): "I thank you so much for your prayers; you just don't know how much they mean to me! God bless! And by the way, you look beautiful tonight" [yes, that last part caused my knees to buckle and my knees NEVER buckle!!] He was so incredibly genuine and kind (and even more handsome and charismatic in person than on TV). We are so blessed to have this man as our president!
I thought we all needed to reflect on my brief (but unforgettable) encounter with President Bush both to remind us why we love this man so much and to inspire us to continue our prayers of support! The Democrats and their accomplices in the media will NOT relent; neither will we!!
I'll write more tomorrow night about the Gala and my trip --suffice to say that 3,000 committed Republicans/Wphiles are quite a formidable and rowdy group!! We at FR are certainly NOT alone in our commitment to the president and his impending Republican victories in the November 2002/2004 elections!!

Condi was great today! So articulate. Several times she called the press to task for mistating information...........so then she re-read the information for them and commented again on the accurate deductions. I had to laugh! She was great!

8 The righteous man is rescued from trouble, and it comes on the wicked instead. This is good. Reminds me of the book of Esther and Haman's pride before his fall.

Thanks again for the wonderful pics and the Dose. Do we ever need this tonight.
You guys always make me feel better to confirm what I already know: that we have a wonderful President who is surrounded by responsible adults who put America first. Let's thank God for His blessings and pray for continued strength for our President. I cannot think of any other President who has had to endure so much in his first months of office as this one. That he has been able to handle this onslaught with such aplomb and grace makes me admire him even more.

That is why I get so angry at the Rush Limbaughs of the world b/c they attack based on principle whereas in toto the battle is republicans vs. democrats and we as republicans must stick together.

I have been a fan of condoleeza rice since I first listened to her speak at the 1984 republican convention. She is brilliant and has alot going for her.
