This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...
President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.
This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.
In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.

Is there anyone here who has even the slightest realization that gratuitous celebrity worship of political caricatures might be detrimental No, we're all airheads, remember?

I am optimistic. Look at Bush's sustained high approval ratings. The DNC has tried many tactics to bring Bush's numbers down, most will see today's nastiness as desperation. This will be all forgotten in a few days. Informed people will see through this ruse, but those who see the headlines on the papers and rely on Katie Courice and Dan Rather for their news may well be snookered.
And if hearings start of it won't be going away for a long time.

True, Nancy has shown her true character during her husband's long illness. Many women of her means would have behaved differently. I have a lot of respect for her.

Frankly, I think that Mrs Reagan is a bush babe!
She loves him....she is quite 'gone' in several of the photos.
Loved the pics of her....and still wondering about the room President Bush and nancy are standing in-above the rotunda pic. Could that be the speaker's office? If so- oh- la-la! Sumptuous!

I thought so too. He ought to deliver more like it.

Then why don't you tell me why you're here? You obviously have nothing constructive to say, only disguised flames. Sorry, but I usually have the patience and tact to deal with the likes of you. Today, I don't.
There are other threads for you to haunt.

My prediction is that if any hearings are held looking into the claim that our President had prior knowledge of 9/11 will get the same attention the Enron hearings are getting now. Have you heard anything about ENRON lately, besides from that dispicable Snake-in-the-Grass Terry McAuliffe?

eskimos problem is that he cannot tell the difference between hero worship and utmost respect.

Is there anyone here who has even the slightest realization that gratuitous celebrity worship of political caricatures might be detrimental to the frank discussion of political failures and missteps that threaten our constitutional republic? No, but I do have an expert and instant realization that your 'syllable-to-content' ratio is way out of whack.

Thats the ONLY response you deserve you mental midget, Go eat yellow snowAnd take that snotty-nosed attitude with you!

But President Bush gets the last laugh as Dashele and Gephart looked like fools when Democrats on the Intelligents Committee admitted they got the briefing from the President so Congress knew also. Besides what can you do with no facts other then they are training to hijack airplanes. Nothing to go on.

Well, George W. Bush is definitely my hero, and I will always be proud of that and proud of him.
Worship belongs only to God.

as Dashele and Gephart looked like fools
It's beginning to be a daily occurance as they desperately try to find something to pin on Dubya

Thanks for linking Vice President Cheney's remarks. I didn't have a chance to see any of this today, and tonight I chose NOT to watch the spiteful dems' attacks. I did see snippets of VP Cheney's speech and was struck by the deep feelings of anger and disgust shown in his forcefulness. Or was I reading my own emotions into it?? He didn't express vindictiveness such as I see in the opposition.
Thanks, Rintense!! Missed you all so much last night.
