There was a report on Brit Hume's Special Report program detailing Democratic accusations of Bush Administration midhandlement of the situation prior to 9/11, after the report mentioned yesterday. They had clips of Gephardt and Daschle's response to it, but then said that later in the day, Bob Graham and Joe Lieberman had moved away from accusations of mishandlement.

It's like those court room dramas where the judge asks things to be stricken from the record, but the jury won't actually forget what they just heard. The Democraps are reptiles and should have their heads chopped off just like you'd treat a snake in your garden.

Bob Graham and Joe Lieberman had moved away from accusations of mishandlement. Smart move .. I don't think I have been this TICKED OFF since the 2000 election mess

The dems have planted the seed, they will sit back and let the biasaed media continue to fertilize it.

I watched ABC news and I was surprised that they defined the politics behind this.

And by half of the so-called conservatives posting here.
The feeding frenzy here appears to be just as bad, if not worse, than it is in the media.
And this is supposed to be the conservative "home field".

Dirty, Divisive DIMS doing what they do be, DIVIDE! DIVIDE! DIVIDE! Disgraceful!
The Senate committee was given the SAME brief that Bush received, per Trent Lott
today (and other DIMS and GOPers confirmed knowledge as well).

I have heard volumns of words today....but you have boiled all of them down into one sentence. You've described the situation perfectly! ROFLMAO

Pardon my ignorance- photo issue?
I wonder about the timing of all of this. The Bush administration started this firestorm which to me indicates that they decided now was the time to get this story out there. Why now?

PS: When I FIRST saw daschle talking about this today, my VERY first thought
was to recall his lying innuendo regarding the "Secret government"/ backup
government plan in the worst conceivable scenario/disaster. My first words
today was "You're lyin' again, aren't ya?"

This story had less legs shorter than 24 hours. ROFL

"Mishandlement"? Isn't that "mishandlism"?
To: Pyro7480
True and it's starting to bring back discussion of klintoon not using Sudan's info and Operation Bojinka. I doubt they want that.
A re-Enron.

It's also a sign, IMHO, that the Dems are really, really worried about this November's election...

Once it was revealed that those in Congress had received the same information, the story was dead. Little Tom Daschle, seated at the boardroom table on his phone book, expressing grave concern, now looks more ridiculous than ever, and so does Gephardt, with his foolish bluster. These guys knew that they had received the same information - how could they be so stupid as to launch a nasty smear on a hugely popular president that would explode in their faces in the same news cycle?

I watched
Special Report as well. Brit made a reference to a speech that the Vice President is to give tonight. I didn't catch the entire story, but I think Brit implied that the VP will resond to the Democrap attacks on GW.
Does anyone know the time and place of the speech?
Perhaps CSPAN coverage?

The Dems do not have the slick PR that used to come out of the Clinton White House. Now, Daschle, Gephardt and McAuliffe are so incompetent that they are exposing their shallow opportunism to many who haven't been paying close attention ( like Freepers have.)
Yesterday, the photo of the President showing concern was insensitive! Today, he was pilloried for not "warning" the world of UBLs plans. Good Grief! What is it going to be tomorrow?
Ari Fleisher's answers were great and so patient to the mind-numbed press corps, and then Condi Rice met with the same reporters and pleasantly took all the fight out of them. By the time of the evening news, the dems were no longer in control of the issue.

I have feeling however that the Democrats are still going to try to use this against Bush (a la McKinney)They're going to try, but just like every other plan the brain trust of Dashole, Gephardt, McAuliffe and the rest of the DNC have come up with lately (like trying to pin Enron on Bush), it's just going to end up blowing up in their faces. There's a thread on FR right now asking people to freep a poll an Atlanta TV station is running. That's Cynthia McKinney's district, and the poll is worded in such a biased fashion you'd think McKinney wrote it herself. And yet before the freeping even began, it was already 2-1 in favor of Bush's pre-9/11 actions. The public is not falling for this, not one bit. And as this story plays out over the next few news cycles, and it turns out as many top RATs had the same info Bush did, they're going to look very very bad. And then the public's going to forget about this, and only remember, "Gee, those Dems are real lying jerks."
