I stand corrected. I did find this lead off in one of the online threads:

"Contrary to previous reports he did not report his experience to the FBI prior to 9/11.."

That's what I recall him saying in some interview a few months ago. He did report the suspecious behavior of the persons in question to the flight crew, though.
