Hey - thanks Fox for fouling up the Dems - BIG PLAY. They were holding back on this until they had their summer game plan in order, I bet. Enron - SSSSssssssss. The dems are hopeless. What is wrong with you beltway cheerleaders? Who gives a damn which party knew? The fact of the matter is that the President and everyone else new about this real threat.
The pilots should have been armed or at least given access to weapons in the cockpits, sky marshals should have been put on as many GD flights as possible IMMEDIATELY!
What the hell are we paying billions to the FBI, CIA, NSA, AFT, the President and the rest of DC for?
This is an absolute outrage and f-ing heads ought to roll!
To: ruoflaw
I thought that Wood said that he reported it to the FBI after 9/11.That's what I recall him saying in some interview a few months ago. He did report the suspecious behavior of the persons in question to the flight crew, though.

I agree that sky marshalls should have been implemented although I think that they would have been more effectively placed if there was no mention of their deployment.
I question whether the Congress would have approved any such measure quickly enough to deploy them before the attacks occurred.
The standard operating procedure for hijackings was to not jeopardize the passengers' safety. If they declared that they had a bomb, there may have been little resistance from the sky marshall. I don't know if a sky marshall would have acted to force a plane into the ground to avoid hitting a populated area.
Can you point to another group of coordinated hijackings occurring in the same day? We got caught with our pants down. The final plane's hijack squad made the mistake of permitting the passengers to talk with family on the ground; it gave away their element of surprise that the plane wasn't going to land. I wouldn't count on them making those same allowances again (if they ever even attempted a plane attack again).
I posted earlier that I recall a denied request by the FBI to tap a suspected terrorist's lines. That terrorist had information regarding the suicide attack on his computer (located after he was dead or missing) and as someone else pointed out, even Bin Laden has stated that the hijackers weren't fully informed of the plans.

Of course they knew!I mean judas freakin preist...the main reason this even happened was that Slick Willie & the Klinton administartion "gutted" the FBI & the CIA so that their intelligence capability was completely "neutered".
I say that Der Schlickmeister should be brought up on charges of treason if the Democrats try to make political hey out of this.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Joe...there are hundreds of threats daily, that all agencies of the Government puruse.
To: rdb3
LoL. Sorry about that.
To: Joe Hadenuf
As much as we rely on the FBI, CIA, NSA, ETC we also want to keep them from interfering with
our rights while they are snooping. It's a catch 22. There
were plenty of signs that were overlooked or not passed up the chain of command but again, look where our domestic security threats were assessed under X42.
A forceful response with no kid gloves (can the "Islam is a religion of peace" nonsense and assess our enemy realistically) would go a long ways to ending future surprises.
The Japanese and Germans don't pose any threats to us today.

Yep, by all means let's have a congressional investigation and go over all the missed opportunities to stop bin Laden from 1991 on. I would enter into the record the 1995 Kurt Russel movie EXECUTIVE DECISION, in which a bunch of Islamo terrorists hijack a jet with the intention of suicide-diving it into Washington DC. In that one, the Vice President authorizes Navy jets to shoot down the airliner, but fortunately Kurt and some SOF guys are aboard to take back the plane. So many eerie foreshadowings in this movie.

And they have the audacity to say that Bush is a lightweight.
He's cleaning their clocks.

Doe's anybody know the name of this disorder? ...sorry, can't help with Dickie's diagnosis - I'm not a veterinarian....
To: Bommer
This information needs to be stated every hour of every day until the dim-witted public understands it.
Panicked by the President's poll numbers, the dumocrats will try anything to tarnish Bush.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
I think the dems' desperation is clouding their judgement. The 9/11 attack, which happened less than 8 months into Bush's watch, was clearly planned during the previous administration. If (as seems likely) FBI/CIA turf battles played a part in the intelligence failure, that falls at the feet of Clinton, not GWB. After all, Bill had 8 years to make them play nice. Should we expect W to sort them out in 8 months?

The Dems just want to start a fight on this...get it out in the media and let it take a life of its own. Best thing to do is ignore it.

You can just point that wicked finger at Gore...he is the one that backed off of forcing the airlines to beef up on security...he decided to back off after the airlines gave him big bucks for his Presidential campaign...the truth is out there!

You can just point that wicked finger at Gore...Please read what I wrote below. That wicked finger as you put it, was pointed at the entire leadership in DC. "What is wrong with you beltway cheerleaders? Who gives a damn which party knew? The fact of the matter is that the President and everyone else new about this real threat".
Just like the millions upon millions of criminal illegal aliens from all over the planet, that are crawling all over our country as thousands more pour in every day or so.
It's a complete, total failure of America's leadership.

New=knew... And they did.

Did anyone see anything about the Dems knowledge on CBS/NBC/ABC tonight? I grazed all three, but saw it mentioned nowhere other than FOX. Watched Chris Matthews discussing Bush's knowledge on Hardball with McCain and Lieberman, but didn't hear any of them mention it, either (but I did not see all of that segment). Interesting to see how the networks explain this little omission...
To: mewzilla
(In my best Chris Matthews voice): Lies by omission happen
all the time in the media. When are conservatives going to face up to this and answer the questions we ask of them?
Are they still sore that a 'rat appointed Chicago Federal judge leaked Clinton-Lewinsky trial information to the AP at the DNC presidential nomination convention and then everyone kept quiet about the source while the press lambasted right wingers for leaking information to "smear" Clinton?

I think the reason that the networks are losing their audience and the fact that many of us have not watched a single word in years, explains it all. The truth just does not sell. Lies are much more interesting to dumbed down audiences.
