There must have been massive response from the public to have this terrible 245(i) be derailed. I'm gonna raise a toast to the congresscritters. Today is a good day.

"Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) introduced Section 245(i) legislation S. 2493 and said he wants to pass it soon and will try to pass it as a stand-alone bill or try to attach it to the Commerce, Justice, State, and Judiciary Appropriations bill. House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt (D-MO) echoed Daschles’s rhetoric saying, “President Bush has repeatedly indicated his support for Section 245(i), he has not been able to convince Congressional Republicans to work with him in securing a more meaningful extension of the provision. We will need nothing less than the President's full support and strong leadership to pass this legislation.” President Bush promised Mexican President Vicente Fox he would push for passage of Section 245(i)."
