Thanks for keeping this alive, not that there will be justice done in Pakistan. Pearl deserves at least that.

Omar is buddy of the ISI chief who is a buddy of Musharraf. This Western style trial in an Islamic sharia-country is a sham, and intended for Western consumption.

Their confessions were not admissible for technical reasons. This same country recently stoned a woman to death for adultery and another who lodged complaint of rape was supposed to have committed adultery because there weren't the required minimum number of witnesses to the rape!

Apparently Richard Reid asked the court yesterday to drop the charges against him. They should pin this murder on him as well...since Pearl was over there doing a story about him.

I think all the incredulous outbursts in court and accusations of blasphemy give a little bit of an idea of how ridiculous the Pakistanis think this whole trial is. There is no way any of them think Sheikh Omar and company should be executed for killing someone they think so little of.
