Well, the world was ready to give the presidensity to Robert F Kennedy, then to Edward M. Kennedy, then to.........Kennedys ad nauseum.
Looking back, it's surprising that Jackie wasn't awarded the office by acclamation.
And I am still amazed that Missouri elected a dead man. But such is the state of politics.
Well, that depends on what the meaning of the word "elected" is, doesn't it? Now, there's elected by legal means and then there's elected by illegal means such as allowing multiple voting, voting by people not legally registered to vote in a precinct, and keeping the polls open overtime to accomodate all of the paid voters and their travel time. (And probably a whole host of tricks honest people like us can't even imagine.)
