Freep mail him too Jen. This is important.

If you were sunburned I know what works for that.

Yuk! That pix is so gross. Mine isn't that bad. It's mostly on my legs but I do have some itchy blisters on my arms.

Dumb, dumb, dumb idea to pull 'unknown' weeds in my flower beds while wearing shorts...

Okay, here's another itching remedy...Mrs. HJ recommends an Aveeno (oatmeal) bath. The cool water helps soothe the burn, and the oatmeal draws out the itch.

You can treat most cases of the rash yourself with the application of calamine lotion, Burrow's Solution, or over-the-counter topical remedies containing antihistamines, benzocaine, or hydrocortisone. Cold compresses -- 15 to 30 minutes several times a day -- are useful for itching and blistering; cool showers are also effective. A cortisone shot may relieve the itching, particularly within 24 hours of exposure.

Gosh, didn't mean to make you cry. It's just that your profile really struck a chord with me, and made me think about things I haven't thought of in years. I remember the way he looked when he finally came home. He was totally emaciated, pale and uncharacteristically quiet. Like so many veterans my brother was very young when he was in Nam, and you know they must have been scared witless and felt so alone at times. I'm so glad to know somebody with your sensitivity was there to bring some comfort, cheer, entertainment and a touch of home to them. Thank you!

Thanks guys for the advice. I re-applied the Caladryl and it's calming the itching. I do have TriCare, but my hubby has insurance through his company so we use it instead. My ins co has an Ask A Nurse line and I will call it tonite, but will probably be told the same as what you guys have said.

I'm not in an 'emergency' situation and can wait till Monday to see the doc if I need a prescription. I also found some Benadryl gel that I had and may use it when the Caladryl wears off.

My daughter had an awful reaction (it looked WORSE that that pix!) to poison ivy or poison oak a couple years ago and the doc gave her oral meds and hydrocortisone cream and it still took a long time to clear it up. She and I must be hyper-sensitive to that antigen.

Thanks for caring about the Canteen's polka-dotted PAO/cheerleader. hehehehehe

Fishin'? Did someone say fishin'?

Gotta schedule it around salmon fishing season.

It doesn't get much better than hookin' into one of those beautiful Pacific King Salmon. Well, maybe eatin' it ranks right up there at the top.

Heck, I'd settle for a few Chinook.
