Postal inspectors in Spokane warned customers about the discovery of several mailbox bombs that have detonated in the area.
So far at least four of what postal inspectors call "caustic bombs" have exploded in North Spokane and Colbert.
No one has been hurt in any of these explosions.
Postal inspectors say the devices can cause serious burns if detonated while people are nearby.
The bombs are not designed to explode when the boxes are opened, but rather when pressure inside rips apart the bombs' housing.
Postal inspectors advise homeowners in Colbert and North Spokane to use extra caution when approaching their mailboxes.
Have the Spokane County Sheriff. Malicious Intent not intended
to hurt anyone, just chemical bomb to destroy the mailbox.
NOT related to the original pipe bomber. Says this happens there
periodically........
