FREEPERS ALERT: Help Stop Nickelodeon Program
From Promoting Homosexuality
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION
The children's channel Nickelodeon may soon air a show promoting homosexuality to children. The show will include discussion of homosexual families, "anti-discrimination" laws and a discussion with "homosexual" middle school children.
Nick News is a "news magazine" for kids age 8-13. It airs Sunday evenings on Nickelodeon. Nick News also is shown in classrooms across the country as a part of "Cable in the Classroom." (Please see if Nick News airs in schools you care about.)
Nick News writer and host/producer Linda Ellerbee has been a longtime supporter of homosexual causes. In 1996, for example, she participated in the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) "Fairness Awards" ceremony to recognize organizations and individuals that promote homosexuality in the media. In addition, she performed in the vulgar obscenity-filled play "The Vagina Monologues" in June of 2000.
Some of the questions dealt with in this upcoming Nickelodeon show are:
**What do you think about homosexuals -- do you think it is morally wrong to be a homosexual? Why or why not?
**Many kids these days are growing up in families that are non-traditional (have 2 moms, or 2 dads) -- What do you think about that?
**Many schools are bringing issues about homosexuality and diversity into classrooms -- do you think these kinds of things should be taught in school? Why or why not?
**Do you think homosexuals are discriminated against because of who they are?
**Do you think we need laws to protect gays and lesbians from discrimination -- why or why not?
Traditional Values Coalition believes this show is completely inappropriate and should not air. This show is nothing more than pure propaganda. It is an attempt to further desensitize our nation's children.
When I spoke with one of Ms. Ellerbee's assistants, she acknowledged that most parents think homosexuality is wrong. So why would her production company, Lucky Duck Productions, move ahead with this show?
One of the topics to be covered is "anti-discrimination" laws. Now how would this be presented-truthfully or biased? The federal "anti-discrimination" legislation the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), for example, does not specifically exclude transvestism, exhibitionism and sexual behavior disorders, to name a few. ENDA infringes on the religious beliefs of citizens by including Christian daycare centers, bookstores and organizations such as Traditional Values Coalition are covered entities, as well as gives greater protections to homosexuals than heterosexual couples.
These are just a few problems. How is the Nick News show going to cover what "perceived" sexual orientation means?
In a conversation with Ms. Marva Smalls, Ex VP for Nickelodeon, I was told Nick News covers pervasive issues kids face everyday. For an overwhelming majority of children in the Nick News age 8-13 target audience, homosexuality is not a pervasive issue. In fact, it is not an issue at all.
We do not know when the show is expected to air. It could be fairly soon. Act now to stop the production/airing.
Nickelodeon needs to get the strong message that this type of show will not be tolerated by parents. Please sign the petition below and we will deliver your petition directly to Mr. Scannell.
Sincerely,
Andrea Lafferty

And who's to say that this propaganda won't filter down to NickJr.?
Sending a petition to a network will hardly be noticed by the powers that be. They will most likely shrug it off as the work of "Right Wing" radicals.
Start by boycotting products from Kraft Foods, Nabisco, General Mills, etc...
This will get their prompt attention...
