Wonder if this rivalry goes back to the earlier days of Fox News when Drudge was one of the hosts and ultimately had to leave. O'Reilly stayed and got bigger while Drudge was sent back to the minors (the internet). He probably feels that O'Reilly is now invading his turf--first with his opinion columns (JWR?) and now radio.

That could be true. Drudge probably yearns for a big story again to put him back on top, but this is a ludicrous attempt to take on O'Reilly and it won't work. Drudge has to grow up and stop whining just because O'Reilly decided to do a radio show.

Hannity is already on the air and was there to cover for Rush many times when he was out. BOR is doing this for himself, not anybody else.

I dunno about the "laughing the whole time" part of your statement... I was watching MSNBC (I like Imus & Co. - Bernie cracks me up) this morning and heard the exchange... O'Reilly was *pissed* and made no bones about it... it seemed to me that his "Drudge should be killed" statement was over the line, that it stepped eerily into the realm of deliberately threatening... and I think O'Reilly planned it that way...

Drudge is whining a bit too much.

Oh and another thing I heard Drudge's radio show once, it absolutely sucked. I'd rather listen to sex talk on the FM station then Drudge who states something on his show then pauses for 30 seconds then says something again and pauses. Sportsradio is much better than listening to drudge on the radio.

Suggestion from Dengar01. Radio Free Republic should be on during Drudge's timeslot, oh wait then he might go after Jim Rob, Bob J and Diotima on his website.

Whether Drudge has animus against O'Reilly is beside the point (and I might add attacking you enemies motives is one of the first lines of defense in a PR crisis.)

The only questin is: Did O'Reilly's company pay stations to carry his show? I don't know much about the radio business, but from what I gather, that is an unusual situation.

Further, if it is true, and the O'Reilly side was crowing about their initial cleareance of stations, then O'Reilly has been caught in a lie. Even if he didn't know that his syndicators were doing it.

Remember, he's the guy who hammered George Clooney and other celebs who didn'tknow where the Sept. 11th charity money was going.

If Drudge has his story straight, this should dent the credibility of O'Reilly. And don't think that it would not have come out except for Drudge. If true, I'm sure we would have heard about it somewhere else.
