Senator Jessica Parker

imageActress Sarah Jessica Parker already has plans for when her acting career ends - she wants to be a politician. The Sex And The City star is a committed Democrat and says if she hadn't opted for a career on stage and screen, she would love to run for the United States Senate. Sarah says, "If I wasn't an actor, I'd want to be a senator for either California or New York. I see that it's the only effective way to change things. "I work for hard for charitable an political organisations because I think it's really important to try to leave the world a better place than you found it." And the actress is far from happy with the current American government. She adds, "I'm very, very concerned about the Bush presidency. I'm worried about the kind of cuts he might make in programs that mean something to a lot of people, including my family."

Making a movie in Europe -- the one with Marlon Brando, I believe -- may be wrong, he was driving drunk and hit a pedestrain, killed the person, and basically got a slap on the hand because of who he was.

It was never proven that he was drunk, but he (Matthew Brodderick) was speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road in Ireland.

He crashed head-on into another car, killing the woman driver (in her sixties) and her mother (in her eighties).

I've never determined why horsehead and her husband were not seriously injured.

Oh, I came so close to getting it right!

But good_ash is correct. Broderick was with hawknose at the time, not horsehead.

If I wasn't an actor

Actually, the proper grammar is "If I weren't an actor." It's called the subjunctive, Sarah Jessica; learn about it.

Isn't it amazing how Matt's little driving adventure never made the news? It amazes me what these people get away with...

Horsehead wasn't with him. In fact, they weren't even dating at the time. He was dating Jennifer Gray back then. It was quite a few years ago...pre 1989's Glory flick.

Sounds like she's got all the qualifications she needs. She's female. SHe's a Democrat. ... Uh ... ummmmm ... Uh, she WANTS to be a Senator ... instead of ... like, unemployed or a secretary or something. Oh yeah, and she's kinda famous. And she knows lots of stuff about that ... y'know ... political junk 'n' stuff.

The thought of her as a politician is revolting. But she makes me think of that old Joan Collins joke, slightly revised:

"What does Sarah Jessica Parker put behind her ears to attract men?"

"Her legs."

Latest on the subject, btw I thought that constituency was now running over here to the GOP, or was I mistaken?

Man. She's a real horseface, isn't she? Never seen her do anything - can she act? She can't make it on looks, that's for sure.
