I don't doubt Bush at all. You did leave off the "Barf Alert". What would you do that would work better?

Aside from the whole Israel thing (when did this become a "right wing" issue?), I agree with the central points of this critique. When will the Republicans in general stop spending money that we don't have?

This article is a simple minded, shallow analysis of President Bush's performance.

Just remember how they arrived on his desk. He can not veto everything. The Rino's in the house and senate have too help too.

I'm certain that I'm in the minority right now,

For sure, but maybe not for long.

The Bushes always give away too much on the domestic side. His father did it, he'll do it. Whatever, I'll take it - he's still a major improvement over the previous jag-off officeholder.

BTW, when you post something you wrote on your personal web site, you should post it as a vanity not disguise it as a legitimate political analysis.

Now I know many of you think I'm crazy right now.

Not just now, but tomorrow and the next day and the day after that, and so on and so forth.

Actually, gov_bean_counter got it right.

This article is a simple minded, shallow analysis of President Bush's performance.

Decent article, if you like reading grocery lists. What gets me is the last paragraph. Nothing. Nada. No counter-arguments. No suggestions. Just an abject apology. Great writing. Not.

In the last hundred years, only FDR and JFK have enjoyed the type of overwhelming support that George Bush has received since Sept. 11th.

I don't Mr. Hawkins' strong suit is history. There have been other wildly popular presidents. Notably Teddy Roosevelt and Warren G. Harding.

Also my understanding is that JFK's enormous popularity was mostly posthumous and retrospective.

Another paperweight analysis from the 1% crowd of dogma. Try pragma and steer straight when you touch down on entry to the real world.

It's so wonderful that you all feel that bush can do no wrong. He hasn't done so much right either. I know that clinton is still looking for his legacy, Bush has found his "I was better than that last jag off".

IMHO, he has no convictions to stand for. He's shown that since day one!

If that 1% votes the other way in 2004, who would be laughing then?

With the blessings of the Bush administration, all pretenses of budgetary restraint have been abandoned as the Republican party is supporting a gargantuan farm bill and even more odious prescription drug legislation.

This guy likes to read George Will.
