Muslims Should Concentrate in One State

By Akhtar H. Emon

Based on the strategy of the Mormons who are mostly concentrated in Utah, American Muslims could pick one state out of the fifty US states where they could settle and win representation in the Senate with two seats and also claim Congressional seats and offices of the Governor, Mayor, and local government. The estimated population of Muslims in America in 2002 is close to 8 million. It may take an approximate one million Muslim Americans to migrate to a state such as Wyoming, Montana, Delaware, Vermont, Dakotas, or Alaska to make a significant difference. These states have a small population base, and a million Muslims moving in these states could help bring about a demographic change in favor of Muslims and their political influence.

Migration of one million Muslims out of a total population of 8 million represents an overall 12% impact, which is quite manageable. After the partition of the Indian subcontinent in 1947, Muslims migrated in numbers much larger than one million.

It will need the Muslims to have a higher clout to make a difference in the US foreign policy and curb the human rights violations in the Middle East. But migration (Hijra) of one million American Muslims would be a struggle for a higher cause rather than a manipulative step to serve self-interests.

No, I'd be dead now :) -- I meant I was severely disappointed that the muslims of America sdid not condemn 9/11 and terrorism in a CONVINCING fashion. I really thought that the 'moderates' especially those living in the US and partaking of our society's freedoms and benefits would wholeheartedly condemn such savagery.

I believe the eight million figure is high, and there's actually no way to verify it. A few months ago, they were claiming seven million. A few months before that six million. Most objective estimates I've read puts it between two and four million, which makes more sense, since for many of us (in contrast to other minority groups) they were below the radar, politically and socially, in most areas until 9/11. (Including Florida!)

Those that are here tend to be in a higher socio-economic level than other immigrant groups, probably due to the Pakistani doctors who seem to be so numerous (and outspoken) -- but, unless we stem the migration, the next waves will be, historically, lower-class and uneducated, such as those in the slums of Britain and France.

Let's hope the war on terror doesn't stimulate a flood of poor Muslims, seeking "political asylum."

I'd rule Alaska out, BTW -- too cold.

As a Texan, I'll volunteer, and will put them in west Texas along the Mexican border, and let them take care of the immigration

Interesting. I think home ownership along borders (with the home owners also owning dogs and rifles) would be the best way to close them.

Yes, I have read it is more like 2 million, although there is no definitive figure as the Census Bureau does not collect that info, and the INS has no idea how many they have let in. The Moslems like to use the 8 million figure to get more leverage with our incompent politicians.

Wait Wait Wait... The second part I agree on. I have a much stronger opinion than I maybe expressed in my first statement about the clerics fumbling with their words. You are in right in the fact that none slammed Islamic extremism.

But you want to talk about solidarity? I know Muslims that were out on the streets carrying candles in the days after 9/11. How can you say solidarity when you are asking Muslims to organize and all Muslim demonstration against 9/11? Where is the solidarity with the American people in that? You have it wrong and backwards. Muslims did it right in being part of America on day.. on that day there wasn't black or white, muslim or christian, gangster or nerd.. everyone was out on the street for one reason... solidarity.

This will probably get its own thread, but this confirms the explosion.  They're unsure as of now as to the source.

Dozens injured in blast at Rishon Letzion banquetting hall
By Ha'aretz Service

At least 30 people were injured in an explosion in Rishon Letzion, either at a banquetting hall or a disco, on Sakharov Street in the town's new industrial zone.

Initial reports stated that the explosion occurred at around 11:00 P.M., and emergency service were at the scene minutes later. The injured were evacuated to the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer and the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

Magen David Adom reported that there were dozens of injuries in the blast, which occurred on the first floor of the building, causing at least one upper floor, and possibly the entire building, to collapse. Reports state that several people are still trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building.

It was not initially clear whether the explosion was caused by a terrorist's bomb or some other source, although Army Radio said that it appeared to be the work of a suicide bomber.

An eyewitness who gave his first name as Oren told Israel Radio that he was near the scene at the time of the explosion. "I just ran away from there. I don't know if it's a terror attack," he said.

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's advisers have been informed of the incident, and are deliberating whether to interrupt the meeting with U.S. President Bush to tell the two men about the explosion.

Actually this might not be a bad thing, if they moved to a Democratically controlled state like Vermont. Don't members of the Religion of Peace usually vote Republican? It would help regain control of the Senate for the Pubbies. Bush would certainly embrace it....

I hope they do it. Then we'll know where they all are and it'll be easier to take them out should they try and invoke muslim law.

Naw, I figure 8 million along approx. 500 to 600 mile

border would be about a 100 mile wide buffer zone filled with

Muslin, then when the Mexican’s sneak in they will have to endure

100 miles of scum, about half way through they’ll say,

”The hell with this. I’m going back”

The most excitement and solidarity i saw was in DC at the palestinian rally. All they've done is whine about 'discrimination'. IF your viewpoint is right then maybe they need to change their leaders, mullahs and spokepeople.

Verification of what my friends? I don't have to source what I saw and it clearly wasn't a basis for saying all 8 million Muslims were out on the streets.

Well I agree with you that even in America where they are fed news reports on a more factual basis than in Palistian these people still feel that Israel is the criminal here and that's an out right shame at the least. Regardless I still stand by my point that you can't have solidarity if you ask what group to specifically demonstrate against a particular issue/program etc etc.

The point of your point eludes me. I don't understand. Was there a groundswell of USMuslim condemnation of 9/11 and terrorism that we missed?
