From 01/01/2002 through 05/05/2002 the INS reported apprehending 523,610 illegal aliens in the US. Now some of these apprehensions are what we call recidivist apprehensions, so we will subtract the recidivist apprehensions from the total apprehensions.

523,610 - 204,226 = 319,384.

So, between 01/01/2002 and 05/05/2002 the INS apprehended approximately 319,384 illegal aliens either attempting to enter the US, or already in the US.

Now the fun numbers.

The INS and the Border Patrol estimates that for every illegal they apprehend, 4 slip by.
Independent Immigration experts estimate that for every illegal Border Patrol apprehends, 9 slip by.
For this presentation, I will also use a 1 to 2 ratio.

So, if the INS apprehended 319,384 illegal aliens, the number of aliens that made it through undetected would be as follows:

1 to 2 = 638,768
1 to 4 = 1,277,536
1 to 9 = 2,874,456

This means, that anywhere from 638,768 to 2,874,456 illegal aliens entered the United States undetected since 01/01/02.

Now for some more disturbing figures.

US and Allied troops that invaded Normandy in 1944 = 250,000+
US troops that invaded Okinawa in 1945 = 550,000+
Illegal aliens that have invaded the US in 2002 = 638,768+

This is an average of 5,110 illegal aliens entering the US, undetected daily.

Now imagine that just 1/10 of 1% of those illegals are terrorist, here to harm the US.

We now have over 638 possible terrorist undetected inside the United States.

These numbers indicate how totally ineffectual our protection is from invaders. As you stated on another thread, the so-call "restructuring" of the INS is a boondoggle, changing only titles and department names.

The problem is , most people are unaware of the severity of the problem. And others, like those wh live in the midwest,have heretofore been unaffected by the invasion. This will not last long, as it has moved to the Southern states like North Carolina, Tennessee, And Georgia. Ohio Indiana, et al, will be hit in the near future. God only knows how many of the possible illegal terrorists will succeed.

There are over 8 million illegals in currently in the US. INS does not have any concrete numbers, but it is the option of the INS and me, that the majority of those 8 million entered on visa's and never left.

The numbers of illegal aliens who routinely cross our border will in the near future resault in several million dead Americans. Absoluetly every law enforcement officer should enforce the laws on immigration as part of his/her veryday tasks. We do not say that a local LEO cannot arrest aq contertfieter because it is a federal crime then why do we say a local LEO should not enforce the federal immigration laws.
