Personally, I think it's fine for Cheney to speak her mind on the issue.

The only thing is that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Ozzy's kids seem to at least be heterosexual. He didn't do all that bad as a father.

Well sevenofnine writes much better English than I write Russian, so I'll take back my little jab. But who'd a thunk someone who uses the word "piehole" would be anything but American? LOL!

That kid Jack is a total freak. But I don't think you can be Ozzy Osbourne and a strict parent. The kids would be so disgusted by the hypocracy that who knows what they'd do?

They love their kids and seem to be a whole lot more involved and knowledgable than many parents I know. In the end, I think the kids will be ok.

As a matter of fact, if I were going to be the arbiter of anything, it would be to that of courtesy and a bit of KINDNESS.

To be an arbiter you would have to think of yourself as an expert in courtesy and kindness. I would hope an expert on courtesy and kindness would think helping friends to better themselves, rather than defending poor behavior or in this case, grammar, would be both courteous and kind...But you're the expert(?)

After hearing all the talk about the show, my husband and I watched it a couple of weeks ago. (That is the first time MTV has been on in our house in 10 years. LOL!)

Same here. My normal Tuesday night show wasnt on so I thought might as well see what all the buzz is about.

If you listen to Ozzie without looking at him he sounds like a doddering old Englishman from a small village. Pretty scarey since he isn't that old. On the other hand, he obviously loves his family, and his wife is a very patient person, I think.

Being roughly Ozzie's age, I felt ten years younger after watching his show. I couldnt believe that the guy had gone so far downhill.

I agree. He obviously loves his wife and kids. If you didnt know he was lead singer of group called Black Sabbath, you certainly would have had hard time differentiating him from Ozzie of Ozzie and Harriet fame --except for the language which certainly is excessive.

Interesting house, decorated well, and they have LOTS of pets, don't they?

Episode I saw had Ozzy "chasing" his cat around the swimming pool to keep the cat from hurting itself. I sat there saying to myself, i cant believe Im watching this. But I couldnt let it go. It was intriguing.

What I like most about Ozzy is that unlike so many celebrities, he doesn't seem to preach down to us. He can be in the White House but I hope they keep Alec Baldwin, Cher, Madonna, Julia Roberts, Bono of U2 and a lot of others away. Unlike so many foreign celebrities, he doesn't put the US down and his morals seem to be much higher than most of Hollywoods'.

Reminder to self. Send sevenofnine a book about punctuation.

You are assuming an ability to read.

I think it's a lot more instructive than any anti-drug PSA.

Reality TV can be very instructive, particularly when it features a victim of his own excesses (including the excessive lust for money which causes him to invite MTV into his home so millions of people can laugh at his entire family).

People like Lynn Cheney would stuff Ozzy (and perhaps her lesbian daughter) deep into the closet so that no own would have to deal with their troubled reality. That's the real reason the drug war continues. Banning drugs is the conservatives' way of denying the reality of drug use. But of course, to the thrill seekers, what is in the closet is always more interesting that what is out in the open, so in the final analysis the Lynn Cheneys of the world are encouraging the very behavior they claim to abhor.

I like her style. She has her opinions and is not afraid to express them, no matter how unpopular they may be with pop culture elites. Go get 'em Lynne.

That is one thing that absolutely galls me about GWB. He will compromise any principle or belief just to get votes. And that IS what this boils down to.

Forgive me for saying that my respect for George W. Bush (whom I voted for) is dwindling day-by-day.

Ozzie is peaking as media celeb. Soon enough the public will soon tire of him, his F's, MTV will drop his show and move on to another "refreshingly shocking" individual.

You are right. Osbourne is a burned-out sorry excuse for a human being. I was shocked at his appearance at the dinner. He's nothing but an oxygen-thief.

Sorry Belial, but she's right. Osbourne's waste.

I saw the NBC 75th Anniversary show last night. They had a segment on NBC news during that period. They showed one clip of Clintoon and one clip of Bush in their montage. The Clintoon clip-- "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, [pause, gaze averted] Ms. Lewinsky." The Bush clip-- Bush raising the bullhorn and shouting: "I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you, and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon."

It's harder to think of a better way of showing the differences in these two presidents. I couldn't believe that NBC would do that. Maybe they are coming around!

GWB isn't the pastor at the Crystal Cathedral. You know that, right? He is a regualr guy that likes rock and roll and joking around with people (celebrities included). He's not Jesus Christ. He's the President of the United States. He promises to not get blow jobs from interns or let Markie Post and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason jump on the bed in the Lincoln Bedroom or let staff hang out in the Oval Office in sweatpants eating pizza while they have bull sessions with the president. He is bringing dignity to the WH-- he's not supposed to cleanse America of its culture.
