Larry King: Clinton TV 'Doesn't Wash'

Larry King, the dean of TV talk hosts, doesn't think much of the idea of ex-president Bill Clinton becoming a TV talk show host himself.

"Naah, it doesn't wash," King told New York radio host Mark Simone Saturday. "It don't play, it don't play," the CNN talker reiterated.

Still, King suggested that Clinton might go for the offer. "I mean, $50 million, if they gave him - NBC will never give him that - but if they gave him $50 million, I mean, that's an awful lot of money."

And King explained that if Clinton decided to accept a TV deal, he'd do well.

"Would he be good? He'd be very good," the CNN talker told Simone. "He's bright. He's riveting. The camera likes him and the people like him. You can't beat that."

So why doesn't Larry King think Bill Clinton should make the move to the small screen?

"Former presidents should not do that. The question is, it's a little demeaning to the presidency," the TV talker insisted bizarrely, about a TV deal for the man who turned the White House into the Playboy mansion on the Potomac.

"I think it reduces the stature of the presidency," King insisted again.

All this time I just figured the Clinton-Monica years was Clinton's preparation to be a "guest" rather than a host on Jerry Springer. tsk tsk tsk

I'd bet Jerry S would like to have $50 mil to pay for a production---what a show, Bill, Monica, Hillary and a few other "surprise" guests from Bill's past (and present).

Matamoros, could you identify the clinton women/victims in the pictures you posted? Are any of these women his rape victims?

Even Sam Donaldson this morning said it wouldn't work. A show would meaan Clinton would have to show up on time. Something he's never done. Sam said the standing joke was that if Clinton showed up sometime on the right day it meant he was on time.

Selling news seems to be one price strata and selling high priced whores seems to be another. (How much for Eva Peron?) The media has experience at both. B. Clinton knows what he wants and what he is. May this country repent for the moral trash it puts in high places.

The camera likes him and the people like him.
Larry King

The camera likes a lot of people Larry, but only about 40% of American's, at best, give 'der schlickmeister' a thumbs up.
