Hate to post and run, but I'm going the Dixie Gun and Knife Classic at the State Fair grounds in Raleigh this morning. Theres a little lightweight 38 snubbie calling to me.

Hope you enjoy the gun show.

Even the lightweight revolvers aren't all that great as pocket guns - too thick. If carried, most end up in an uncomfortable inside pants holster.

Recommend looking at the Kel-Tec P-32. It's very lightweight, flat, small, accurate and very reliable. Much more likely to be carried due to low weight & small size. The small gun you actually have with you is worth way more than the bigger one left at home IMHO.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've shot my buddies Kel-Tec a few times and found his to have a very long trigger pull and not utterly reliable. I'd still like to have one someday for when I need to conceal in a Speedo.

I ended up buying a Taurus Police Model 85 Lightweight Titanium in .38 Special with a concealed hammer. It weighs about 13.7 oz unloaded and lays in my pocket very comfortably. I'm a big guy and this was a good fit for when it was not quite feasible to conceal my Glock.

I got a box of Federals +P 158 Gr Nyclad hollow points over lead wadcutter to go with it. I picked up a Wild Bills horsehide pocket holster and a nylon holster with strap.

BTW, I had rented the Taurus and few similar revolvers on Friday and had a great overall impression. I did not have an issue with the recoil on any of them. The Taurus does come ported. All in all, a good day.
