Israeli soldiers used Quran as toilet paper
1 May 2002
Israeli soldiers who have taken part in the invasion of 1967 Palestine used torn pages from the Quran to wipe themselves.
At the opening meeting of the Knesset's summer session yesterday Arab Member of the Knesset Ahmed Tibi accused soldiers of "wiping their butts" with pages of the Holy Quran during the so-called Operation Defensive Shield.
"They take a Koran and use it to wipe themselves in the bathroom, your soldiers, your boys," Tibi said.
"You should be ashamed of yourselves. What a disgrace." Tibi also accused the IDF of making men walk naked. "Is this a war on terror or civilized behavior," he asked.
Tibi then demanded that Jewish members of the Knesset condemn the behaviour of the IDF soldiers.

Apparently you have not read the Koran, had you done so you would realize there is nothing "holy" within it. Nothing.
However, it is worthless as t.p. as well as for any other use except inculcating lunacy in the mindless followers of Islame.

Not even close, the Gita is directed to a King on the verge of a gigantic battle. And there is no direction to kill in the name of God. Merely an understanding that good men can be on both sides and may die fighting. The key point was not to become emotionally attached to the killing or the cause.

99 out of 100 Christian American "conservatives" don't realize that the Talmud slanders Jesus Christ and his Blessed Mother in the most vulgar way. "Judeo-Christian" heritage, indeed. Not true. See this site, or this one.

Re you Stephen Roberts quote: I like it. I just don't like the way the Arabs are acting under the pretense of holiness. That detracts from the respect I would normally feel from a work that its adherents claim has religious status.
To quote Inigo Montoya of the "Princess Bride"-- about "religion" instead of "inconceivable" -- "I do notta think that word means what you (the fundamentalist Muslims) think it means."

And the Congress is doing the same with the Constitution.No. Our government flushed the Constitution long ago.

I don't know that I'd go that far, as much as I understand the temptation. But I do wonder what those checkered headcloths would feel like down there.

I guess its OK to desecrate a holy book as long as its not your holy book . You're right. It really wasn't the right thing for the Israelis to do -- if they did it. Had they used Bibles or little American flags, people here would be outraged. If they used the Koran, the Moslems have a right to be upset.

Its OK to desecrate a book claimed to be holy by a bunch of uncivilized sub human filth. Is it really? Just because they are uncivilized, does it give us the right to be uncivilized too? Surely, the civilized world should set a good example.

hypocrasy and bigotry are such endearing traits . . .

When Israeli troops entered the previously Jordanian-held section of Jerusalem, they were less than charmed to see that Jewish graveyard headstones had been used to pave army bathrooms floors. True fact.

Nice to see you on board :-)
Notice how FR for whatever reason removed their little "no sexist, racist, or personal attacks" from the reply application? Wonder why?

How uncivilized. They should have at least waited till the book came out in a double-ply version.

Perhaps so people could indulge in a little Arab bashing. Not that I'm against Arab bashing. We need to "say it with bullets" in a few countries I could name.
And of course I'm always open for a little French bashing. But then who isn't?
But upon looking at the top of my screen, I see the little warning is back.
