The US Congress will vote today on a proposal to recognize the West Bank as sovereign territory belonging to the State of Israel.
Rep. Richard Armey, the Republican Congressional leader, said the Palestinians should build their national home within a neighboring Arab country.
Armey noted Arab nations have large tracts of unsettled territory where the Palestinians could build a nation.
In Armey's opinion, there is no reason for Israel to hand territory over to the Palestinians in exchange for peace.
The White House is urging Congress at this time to dramatically tone down the proposal's language, Israel Radio reported.

Sadly, none of the neighboring Arab countries want the so called Palestinians on their property.

Good for Armey. And NO! Don't tone it down. Spell it out loud and clear!

LOL, Armey is taking a tougher position than any politicians in Israel are. Not sure what conclusion to draw.

Finally someone said it. If tha arab countries want a "palestine" so bad they can pony up their own land to let them build one.
Israel took that land fair and square in a war. It's theirs.

Armey noted Arab nations have large tracts of unsettled territory where the Palestinians could build a nation. With the caveat that much of that land strongly resembles Death Valley.
I think Saddam should put his money where his mouth is and offer the Palestinians a homeland. After all, he lost most of his Republican Guard in 1991 and he needs a new supply of willing volunteers. And it would give us the advantage of knowing 98% of the world's terrorists live in one country.

That takes some guts. I'd love to see this one pass.

How about the Israelis move back to Brooklyn, San Franciso, Frankfurt or London where they lived before they came and stole Palestinian land?? How would you feel if someone kicked you out of your home and stole all of your resources? "Conservatives" amuse me; they don't like when immigrants take over their space, but don't seem to mind if they take over someone else's.

LOL, Armey is taking a tougher position than any politicians in Israel are. Not sure what conclusion to draw. Not true. National-Union, Yisrael B'Aliyah, the National Religious Party, and a large portion of Likud members support this. In fact, Moledet, a party in the National-Union group support expuslion of the Palestinians in the disputed territories.
The murdered Tourism Minister, Rehavim "Ghandi" Ze'evi, headed Moledet and proposed this constantly as a alternative to Oslo.

What Palestinian land? There is no Palestine. It was created by England.

How about the Israelis move back to Brooklyn, San Franciso, Frankfurt or London where they lived before they came and stole Palestinian land?? Most of the Jews came to Israel from Europe... and we all know the Europeans history with Jews.

Some people were unfortunate enough to only go to public school recently.....

But, of course...that's what you get when you have feminized males trying to be males. I know...you're trying to be SENSITIVE.
Good day!
(BTW maybe we should all move back to England as well seeing that US is rightfully theirs! I'll wait till you buy your ticket before I decide to leave)

Armey is wrong on this, and not just because of the substance of it. He's wrong because foreign policy initiatives should come out of the Adminsitration. We don't need 535 Secretary of State wannabes on Capitol Hill.
