Our Friend and fellow Freeper Budge Rhae has had an accident. He fell at work Tuesday, and compressed his L-1 Vertebrae. I'm sure my dear friend won't mind me posting a part of his e-mail to me.
"I fell at work last Tuesday and now have a compressed vertebre(?) at L1. I have to wear a brace, use a walker, and I am as depressed as I have ever been. Can't even eat, feel like everything is going to stick in my throat."
Oue Budge is a dear dear friend to many here at FreeRepublic. He could use some prayers and encouragement. Years ago, I fractured L-1 and L-2. What he is going through isn't fun. And your prayers and words of friendship will be greatly appreciated.
Many of you probably know him from the many FR get-togethers.
I can only get one of my pics to post.. it is the one of Budge and JimRob. I have a really cool one of our handsome Budge with Dolly Kyle Browning, I'm going to keep trying to post that one. You can see what a doll face he is. Please Ping this to all who I have forgotten. I don't keep a Ping List.
I love you Budge.. hang tight my friend. Prayers are on the way. I've already started.... GOD BLESS YOU BUDGE,..AND MAY HE HEAL YOU QUICKLY, I ASK THIS IN HIS SON'S NAME, JESUS CHRIST!!
BUDGE AND JIMROB
I would like to explain to all that sitting up straight in a regular chair requires effort. High dollar ergonomic chairs force you to sit straight and you are aware of the forced posture. In my chair you sit straight naturally because it is most comfortable. The user is unaware of being forced to sit straight.
I like to say it makes you sit with good posture without you knowing it. : )
Isn't the immediate relief great? Momma was right.
Yeah, we'll talk about that 30 mph. I haven't cranked mine up that fast yet. =o)
Amen,..........More Grace and Mercy,.........In Jesus' Precious Name, Amen!!!
Amen,..........More Grace and Mercy,.........In Jesus' Precious Name, Amen!!!
I realize this thread has gone on for quite a while and I appreciate that more than all the posters know.
I can say that time is slowely healing me, but I don't think I would be doing this well without everyones support and prayers.
From what I've heard, back injuries take a long time to heal and it hasn't been a month since I fell.
So thank you Maestro for continuing to remember!
God Bless you!
You have no idea how much I appreciate your comments. It is hard for folks to believe that the very simple differences in my chair over a standard chair make it profoundly better.
Every time one who uses one states how good it is, it makes it easier for me to convince the next person who inquires.
Thank you Dutchess.
Joe's chair came, and it IS wonderful!!! I told Joe that he failed to mention another benefit of his chair. It takes pressure off the back of the knee...which is extremely important in order to prevent blood clots/embolisms. I'm passing the word on to Chiropractors I know...and even office buildings where there are many workers there.
Already we can see what it has done for so many. What a blessing this thread has been in so many ways than one!!!
Art plans on seeing Badjoe in the near future...and I hope to meet his better half soon too :o)
Life is good. Life is so good, especially when you step into a thread like this and find such awesome people standing there.
I'm here to help as much as I can. I truly have a love for my brother Budge, and T'wit, and now BadJoe and Diver Dave,..and Willie. I don't know how I'm gonna break it to my husband about all the men I love ;o)
He went through this with me a few times before...
It always ended up the same,,...me holding another mans hand, sitting there with him, holding him close. I rubbed his eyes, until they didn't open anymore. I held his wifes hands as she was holding his for the last time. We took our time, and let it happen the way it needed to happen. People saying they loved each other,..."The last goodbye". I worked Hospice for a tad over 3 years. I"m honored to have worked with my families. I loved those families with all my heart. Watching a daughter, Mom die.. or a Son, Dad, or a child. So hard. I had to quit after three years, there is a pretty high burnout rate in it. But I'm honored to have helped. I was so blessed. I can't describe those experiences, not and do them justicel
BUT!!!!at least with these boyfriends at FR, they are all going to be around for a LOOOOOOOOOng LOOOOOOOOOOOOOng time!!!! Ya hear me!!! And my new girlfreinds.. same thing!!! Friends are gifts from God. True Blessings...
I've had angels in my life,..and I always enjoyed helping others and have wanted to give back. Even if its a snailmail card... something to lift someone who is down.
This thread has been amazing. It has restored our faith in our fellow human beings. IT was really really just darn amazing.
OH MY HECK!!!!!! ;o) (I thought that was the cutest saying) We LOVED the chair. then I found even more medical uses for it. Its a keeper. I'd love to see this chair in a local Chiropractors office. Let them try it. Or a large scale office complex. It would improve productivity in no time!!! It would also improve the on the job ratio of injuries, less time away from work, etc.
IT's a really cool chair BADJOE.. and you're a really awesome and coool friend!!!! ssmmmmmmmmmmmoooooooooches
Now I have to answer 5million e-mails :o(
But I'll be back. Most likely tomorrow. ITs so wierd to try to type in another kind of computer!!!! ughhh
BIG HUGS TO THE BUDGESTER,....WILLIE,....DIVER DAVE,.....DUTCHESS, I hope I didn't leave anyone out. I'm just exhausted. Art is still really sick.. I MEAN SICK, and he is NEVER sick. Didn't get to fly his mission this week.. and may get knocked out next week if the doesn't buck this one up!!
What with the two little ones here, maybe for a couple nights (we could sure use some prayers for them) its going to be an exhuasting time for us. We have to do this. I'm so worried about these prescious little ones. Very hard on them.. Very hard. Prayers for our 6 year old grandson and our 5 year old grandaughter would be greatly appreciated. Their names are Tarryn and Kayla. Thanks!
So send some prayers for what they are going through if you have the time.
God Bless you all..and its so good to be back.
HI to Rainy and Willa!!!!!!
Love ya all,... God Bless All!!! Be back when being a grandmother permits. (and the wife of a sicko.. poor guy.. he NEVER gets sick.. so its hard on him, he could use some prayers too!!)
Well, gotta get off here. This is my first attempt at using my new puter. Going to take some time getting used to the keys. I keep trying to type fast,..and messin up!! ughhhh
:o)
Be back when being a grandma permits :o)
Amen,........More Grace and Mercy,.........In Jesus' Precious Name, Amen!!!
Naturally our prayers go out for Art, Tarryn and Kayla. Please keep us posted on their progress!
I was hoping Diver Dave would have a little more to say about his new BadJoe chair, but I guess he's busy testing the speed of it. =o)
How about Dutchess? I wasn't aware she was getting one, but boy, has she praised it!
I found out Willie has a problem with his when it comes to his computer golf. Seems it has thrown his swing off, he has to raise the computer desk. =o) But he loves it. Like me and everyone else the chair brought immediate relief just sitting in it!
God Bless Maestro who has kept the thread going daily!
As far as my progress, my doctor told me I could go back to work on a very limited schedule, no more than four hours a day. My first day back (a week ago) wasn't too bad. Second day (last Thursday) was miserable. In fact, so bad I couldn't go the full four hours. Third day (Monday) wasn't too bad. We'll see how well today goes.
BadJoe told me to take the chair to work, but that is impossible. There's hardly enough room in my little car for the walker, much less the chair. Besides, I know the people at work would "confiscate" the chair and I'd never see it again! =o) Perhaps I can make arrangements with BadJoe for a second chair for work. I would have to paint my name on it though. =o)
Don't forget prayers for everyone on all of billbears Prayer Threads!
God Bless all of them and all of you!
Shucks Dutchess, I think this is a testimonial thread!
I am so glad you got one! It really is amazing the difference going from BadJoe's chair to a regular chair. Everyone who tries mine loves it!
And a "rah rah sis boom bah" three cheers to you, Joe. I SO appreciate having one of your chairs, and I tell everyone about it. I smile every time someone on this blessed thread mentions it because no one is ever lukewarm about it.
And prayers and love to you, Budge, and to Rainy. It's wonderful to hear good news from you. Keep on keepin' on.
I recieved the following in an e-mail from a good friend in Galveston last night. I immediatly thought of FReepers and these Prayer Threads.
Scripture: Matthew 6:26
"Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are."
Next fall, when you see geese heading south for the winter, flying along in "V" formation, you might consider what science has discovered as to why they fly that way. As each bird flaps its wings, it creates uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in "V" formation, the whole flock adds at least 71 percent greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own.
In a church people who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going more quickly and easily because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.
When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone - and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird in front. If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those people who are headed in the same direction as we are. When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back in the formation and another goose takes its place and flies point.
No church community should have only a few people doing all the work. It is sensible to take turns doing demanding jobs, whether with people or with geese flying south.
Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.
In a church we should continually encourage one another rather than criticize and tear down.
Finally and this is most important - when a goose gets sick or is wounded and falls out of formation, two other geese fall out with that goose and follow it down to lend help and protection. They stay with the fallen goose until it is able to fly or until it dies, and only then do they launch out on their own, or with another formation to catch up with their group.
In a church we should surround the sick and wounded with love and care until they rebound and can in return do the same for others.
Prayer: Father help me to carry my share of responsibilities as a church member and always ministering and caring for those around me. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
I've had my chair since two Freepathons ago when someone kindly talked about it. I didn't have any problems that called for a new chair but after I sat on it, I found that the old unrecognized problems of tired legs, tired back, and poor posture were gone. I used to lean back quite often in my old chair; now I didn't even attach the back yet and never even think of leaning back.
When I was in the Navy we were 'graded' periodically by our Division Officer, plus the numerous personnel inspections and shop inspections, etc. We always sought to receive the highest rating, "Outstanding," or 4.0 for our score.
Joe, this chair is "Double Outstanding." I mentioned that I noticed immediate relief due to the chairs design to "force" me to sit straight. It's been almost a full week now, and I notice now that I don't get the uncomfortable feeling that I used to get with my old chair. If I start to feel the familiar twinge of pain, it's only because I've either crossed my feet rather than plant them squarely on the floor or foolishly taken on a slouching position. You really can't slouch comfortably in the chair either.
Everyone who has come over to the house has received the benefit of a demonstration. The "wow's" and "ahhhs" are always heard. Of course I get to tell the story of all the wonderful FReepers who provided the funds for the chair. My eyes still leak with each opportunity to tell the story. Again I get "wow's" and "oh, that's so cool" comments.
Just a little history for those unfamiliar. I am retired (early). I injured my back back in the late 80's, had three surgeries, offering only partial relief. After the last procedure, a fusion of S-1 through L-4, in '91, things remained painfully stable. As is common, the discs and vertebra up-line took on greater stress and age have caused some narrowing in those areas plus my neck is following suit.
I will never be pain free, a fact I accept, until I meet my Savior face to face. Until that Day, I will have the drugs to ease, but the chair, this Marvelous Chair, will provide comfort for these old bones.
Thank you, all of you once again.
This chair gets an "OUTSTANDING" a "4.0" a "Two Thumbs-Up" rating.
Thank you.
I am so glad it helps you.
