Our Friend and fellow Freeper Budge Rhae has had an accident. He fell at work Tuesday, and compressed his L-1 Vertebrae. I'm sure my dear friend won't mind me posting a part of his e-mail to me.

"I fell at work last Tuesday and now have a compressed vertebre(?) at L1. I have to wear a brace, use a walker, and I am as depressed as I have ever been. Can't even eat, feel like everything is going to stick in my throat."

Oue Budge is a dear dear friend to many here at FreeRepublic. He could use some prayers and encouragement. Years ago, I fractured L-1 and L-2. What he is going through isn't fun. And your prayers and words of friendship will be greatly appreciated.

Many of you probably know him from the many FR get-togethers.

I can only get one of my pics to post.. it is the one of Budge and JimRob. I have a really cool one of our handsome Budge with Dolly Kyle Browning, I'm going to keep trying to post that one. You can see what a doll face he is. Please Ping this to all who I have forgotten. I don't keep a Ping List.

You are sooo right, knowing Budge has been one of the biggest blessings of my life!! He helped me though the toughest time of my life a few years back, and I will NEVER forget that.

I know that anyone who has ever met Budge in person, would say that he has made a positive impact on their lives. I just can't say enough about what having him as my friend and "Big Brother" means to me. And now, I can call you my friend too!!!

I think I'm down with a flu (Bad stomach), so I'm only staying here for a second. But I haven't heard from the Budge'ster today. Probably tonight. Thats why I was checking in.. to see if he or Internet Golfer had posted.

I'm still waiting on my chair. It should be here any day now!!

I have not heard ONE negative thing about it. Nothing but good!!! In fact.. I've heard nothing but people who have it telling me I really needed one. So I think your husband is going to be tickled pink!!!

Hey everyone, prayers for Vets_Husband_and_Wife!

Now the report.

Hi everyone. Sorry I'm late today but I had an appointment at the clinic. Made that then had to take paperwwork to Wal-Mart where friends kept me for a while.

Rainy was having trouble with her leg today so that meant I got to drive myself for the first time in 16 days. I was a little concerned that I might have trouble, but as long as I took it easy it was fine. The bigest problem is getting the "two wheeled monster" folded and in the car. Naturally, it had to rain during my first try at this.

When I fianally got to Wal-Mart and started inside, I quickly realized just why I have seen so many walkers with tennis balls on the rear legs. The viberation and noise from them was interesting, to say the least. I went straight to sporting goods and "Red" installed the tennis balls. Made all the difference.

Some of the regular customers insisted I join them at the snack bar where they bought me lunch. Very, very nice of them.

Unfortunately I missed Wirestripper who came by shortly after I left the house to visit and check out BadJoe's chair. I'm so sorry, Wirestripper, please come by again!

When I made it home it was time for a nap. Awoke to Rainy fixin' venison with all the trimmings. YUM! Just about time for my after-dinner nap. =o)

So far only two (half) pain pills today. Hope I can lower the number of them as time goes by.

Got an e-mail from a very dear friend who checked in on the thread. Here is part of what she said, "WOW! Budge - you don't get friends like that without earning them. Isn't that a wonderful thread!

"Have you warned the local police about you and that chair? I fear for the locals who get in the way."

I LOVE it!

Anyway, that has been my day. I'll close by saying, God Bless you all, and thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thanks Dutchess.. I'm going to the doc tomorrow. Wierd!! Had this a few days ago.. a couple days off..then it started again yesterday while I was on the phone with Budge. Figured it was because he and I were crying..and all that. But it has stuck with me. I'm on Mylanta which helps. Probably just a little flu bug.. I get everything!!!!

Thanks friend!!! I go to the doc tomorrow. I have the best people in the world looking after me. So we'll figure this thing out. I'm so tough.. I'll shake it. And your prayers will help!!! ;o)
