Any Serviceman who leaves the service, for whatever reason, is given multiple copies of his DD 214, listing all qualifications, promotions, commendations, and awards. Anyone who cannot produce the goods, or who claims that his exploits are "off the books", should get your BS meter howling. There are way too many barstool Rangers around, and Fox is guilty of shoddy work by taking this guy at face-value.

I left the service in Nov 1977 and recieved only one copy. I guess that since then they have gonje way overboard with copies.

Only got the original copy of mine in Sept '69
Still have it. It's the one piece of data that I have always held onto.
