It is so obvious that God chose this man, with his personality and tenacity, his ability to choose wise counsel and to make good decisions, his knowledge of history, and with his faith in God, and dedication to serving HIM, for these times.

Interesting take on what's going on...btw, did God choose, Bill Clinton, and if so why? Also, how 'bout Stalin and Hitler? God chose them too? Or is it "these times" that makes everything different. BTW, there were people 200 years ago saying that "these times" were "the times" discussed in Revelations...Of course, rather than answer these questions of your statement you'll no doubt say that this is not the thread for my questions. Feel free to FReepmail me if you'd like.

He sets above nations whom He will. The Kings heart is in His hand. Clinton was exactly what a prayerless people of God deserved.

Oh, no, I'll be happy to answer your questions on this thread, though anniegetyourgun already did it well.

I believe that Bill Clinton's election was a natural consequence of a sinful nation who had chosen the god of money over the God of Truth. We were forced to suffer through his 8 years of debauchery because of our complacency and greed as a nation.

A huge number of people fell on their knees and begged for forgiveness, and for George W. Bush to be elected and help lead us as a nation back to righteousness. I believe that God answered those prayers, and showed mercy on America.

As to Hitler and Stalin, those are more difficult to understand. There are those who say that if there had never been a Hitler and a Holocaust, there would never be a nation of Israel, as prophesied in Scripture. It's at least a possibility.

To be honest, I don't know why God allows dictators and tyrants to rule, but because of my knowledge of Scripture, I know that he indeed does allow them to rule.

God didn't put Bush in the White House, free people acting of their God given free will did that. God did however place choices before Bush at times in his life which, when made, propelled to the place where he COULD place himself in the position to be elected. The same thing happened with Bill Clinton, and unfortunately, people acting of their own free will voted for him. Other people made other choices, but theirs weren't enough to overcome those who had chosen Clinton. Same with Hitler; he was elected by popular vote, after all. Those Germans made their choice after having been propagandized by the National Socialists and a willing media. Come to think of it, the same thing could be said about Clinton except it was the Democrats and a willing media! With Stalin, NO one had a choice; not even to live or die. He exercised complete control over Russia with terror as his weapon.

I do believe God touched many hearts who were open to His message and turned them toward George W. Bush; in that respect, God DID have a lot to do with Bush being elected President.

Does THAT explanation satisfy you?
