GAZA, April 27 (UPI) -- Israeli army bulldozers Saturday destroyed cars that belong to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's convoy, official Palestinian sources at Arafat's office in Ramallah reported.
The sources said the bulldozers powered into Arafat's compound and destroyed seven presidential armored Mercedes.
Witnesses in Arafat's office said the bulldozers also flattened the presidential guards' vans and Cherokee jeeps.
Meanwhile, Palestinian National Authority Minister of Information Yasser Abed Rabbo lashed out at the military for directing loudspeakers at Arafat's main office, describing the measure as "provocative and criminal Israeli army action."
He said such measures "proves that Israeli Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon had failed to get rid of President Arafat," and was unable break "his determination to continue his struggle for the Palestinian independent state."
Palestinian witnesses said the Israeli army sent more troop reinforcements and armored vehicles into the Ramallah, renewing Palestinian fears the Israeli army plans to reoccupy the West Bank town.
Residents said they are also afraid the army is
planning to raid Arafat's headquarters, arrest the militants in his office and bring Arafat to Gaza.

They urinated all over the walls, as well.Aww, that's just terrible!
They think that they are impressive.
Actually, they are doing a pretty impressive job.
They do not go in, face to face with Arafat.
They don't want to kill him...yet.

Nice pic, but not an armored Benz. Camry maybe? Doesn't appear to be a real bulldozer either. An armored personnel carrier, maybe with a small blade attached, but it's hard to tell for certain. It's certainly not one of those armored monster bulldozers the Israelies generally use.

Finally, someone who would get my "Go see Cal" references. I've never lived in S. California, but remember that commercial from it being on the TV in the background of several TV shows. I think the Beverly Hillbillies were one.

They do not go in, face to face with Arafat Not for any lack of wanting to, I'm sure. Pressure from the US government, mainly the state department, is the main thing keeping Arafat alive.

Notice that the Israeli's did NOT attempt to flatten the refrigerator with the lone Bud inside.
They ain't stupid, ya know.

Those cars and the bulldozers that crushed them were probably all paid for with US taxpayer dollars. Uncle Sucker picks up the tab again. A better use of my tax dollars than building Arafat's Swiss bank account.

The IDF should have flattened the cars with M-1 tanks, then slipped them under the door in Arafat's office.

It's an M113 and an ambulance one at that {notice the red star of david on the front}. We do not have any M113's with dozer attachments in the Israeli Army. The large bulldozers are called D9'S and are used by the Handasa Cravee {Combat Engineers}. Shalom

The only mistake they made that I can see , is that there is not a massive lump of mush wearing a black and white checkered head rag in the glove compartment.
To: Thebaddog
that doesn't answer the point I made: "now, you think that it is childish to destroy his cars? What about the big bombs the palestinians have been putting in the cars to blow up Israeli tanks. Seems like a pretty good precaution to me."

They do not go in, face to face with Arafat. Ugghh. Why would anyone want to go face to face with that old tea-bagger?
To: FresnoDA
That seems like such overkill. They could have just cut the brake lines.

"We know that Arafat's little country, as it can be called, is not making nothing in terms of taxes. Just curious." For over twenty years, Israel has withheld taxes on the wages of Palestinian workers and remitted the collections to Arafat's "government". These sums amount to about one-third of the total revenue of the Palestinian Authority.
The balance is split between UN funding of the "refugee camps", foreign aid and other outright gifts -- from other international sources and so-called Palestinian relief funds.

"The large bulldozers are called D9'S and are used by the Handasa Cravee {Combat Engineers}." We call 'em D-9s over here, too. Peoria's finest, The Best of Caterpillar.
Keep up the good work.
