The Bush admin's attempt to meddle in the Israel debate has been a disaster for them, and they have lost a great deal of face. I admire the imagination of those who can see this as part of a larger strategy; I myself can't see it. The administration looks divided and clueless.

Fortunately they've done nothing that quite gives away the store. And the Arab rulers are so clueless that every move they make gives the Bushies one more reason to attack Iraq. So hopefully little is lost ultimately.
