Doug, I take your points, but I've had a bit of an epiphany regarding all things Clinton. The real villain is Ken Starr.

Look, either we here are just a group of well-meaning folks who wrongly accused Clinton of major mega crimes against the US and the Constitution, in which case we ought to apologize to him, OR we are RIGHT about his crimes and he ought to be in prison. (I believe it is the latter.)

So what was the our proper remedy under the law? He should have been investigated by an honest prosecutor, who had unlimited time and money to do a proper and thorough investigation. In other words -- Ken Starr.

I now see, that these people can't be blamed for being loyal and fond of someone they voted for -- and defended -- against family, friends and co-workers. Ken Starr, in essence, vindicated THEM, by bringing no "serious" charges against Clinton.

Why didn't Starr exhume and re-autopsy Vince Foster, especially after the bombshell evidence by Patrick Knowlton? Why didn't he ask Linda Tripp a single question about Filegate -- the very scandal she had the most knowlege and expertise on?

I've come to realize that Clinton supporters have the right to say: "If he was so evil, how come Starr couldn't find anything more serious than lying about oral sex?" Keep in mind, that if not for Linda Tripp's tapes, and Monica saving the dress, KEN STARR WOULD HAVE CLEARED CLINTON OF EVERY AND ALL CHARGES. Think about that!

I've learned to direct my frustration and what's left of my rage at Ken Starr. Bill Clinton struts the world stage today because of him and him alone.

To some extent I agree. We needed a pitbull like Joe DeGenova, not the meek and mild Ken Starr. Starr was afraid to do his job. In normal circumstances, he would have done fine. But in this case, he was up against the Clinton slime machine. He didn't know how to handle it. They did an OJ on him. I've had numerous discussions with Dave Schippers. The crimes were there to be prosecuted. Pansies like Trent Lott were worried about political consequences and were afraid to do the right thing. The funny this is, had they done the right thing, they would have crippled the RAT party for at least a decade.

Through the Clinton years, I became of friend of Dr. Paul Fick who wrote THE DYSFUNCTIONAL PRESIDENT. Fick interviewed Bert Dickey in about 1994 and Dickey actually testified in front of the FBI.

Besides being prepared to testify if called by Starr, Dickie named eight other people who would testify that they either bought state commissions from Governor Clinton or helped launder the money. That was of critical importance because in the criminal trial of bankers Herbie Branscum and Robert Hill, Clinton denied under oath that he ever sold a state commission for cash. He testified on video in that criminal trial.

At the tail end of the impeachment investigation in the House, I finally managed to get through to the chief investigator and told him about Dickie and the other witnesses. We arranged for Fick to fly to DC and meet with the committee. I sent to them the transcript of the testimony and noted where he had committed perjury. The attorneys who saw that were astounded. They agreed that this was perjury in a criminal trial. Unfortunately, Schippers was not given enough time to do his job and they didn't pursue the matter.

Another person who became a friend was former trooper L.D. Brown. I helped him in Southern California a few years ago with a book tour for CROSSFIRE: WITNESS IN THE CLINTON INVESTIGATION. L.D. personally watched Clinton receive several thousand dollars from a man who was unqualified but bought his way onto the police commission. Clinton said to Brown something like ---- Well, L.D., sometimes you have to do bad things to be able to do good things.

I met Patrick Knowlton about a year after his journey into the park. He is totally credible and it is a shame that he did not become a star witness. It was a botched investigation and prosecution --- worse than even OJ.

And why did he allow the Clinton Whitehouse to keep the FBI files for YEARS after he told us it was illegal for the Whitehouse to have them?

Why didn't he correct the Whitehouse when they told us they'd returned the FBI files but hadn't?

Bill Clinton struts the world stage today because of him and him alone.

While I agree with you about Starr being corrupt, the reason Clinton struts the stage today is because the GOP and Bush have simply ignored the many crimes the Clinton administration and DNC committed. Given what we already know about Chinagate, Filegate, Emailgate, the Riady non-refund, the death of Foster and the death of Ron Brown, there is NO EXCUSE for the Bush administration not even bothering to investigate any of them. Exhume and autopsy Ron Brown's body, and find traces of a gunshot wound, and very likely Clinton and bunch of his criminal associates would soon be in jail. It is that easy and there is certainly reason to suspect that there is a bullet wound in Ron Brown's head. I blame Bush more than I do Starr because it is clear Starr was working for Clinton. A coverup was to be expected. But what is Bush's excuse? What is the GOP's?
