To: Risky Schemer
The first time I saw "bohica" was around the Norfolk, Va naval base. There were several cars which I remember seeing which had a bumper sticker which said on top in small letters:

USS NIMITZ
BOHICA! (In large letters in the middle)
“Our screws never stop” (On the bottom in small letters)

As the story goes (or perhaps the legend), a junior petty officer told some young ensign that Adm Chester Nimitz was part Indian and that Nimitz's Indian name was BOHICA. So this ensign had all these bumper stickers made up in the aforementioned manner. Don't know what happened to the ensign or the petty officer.
