I used to dislike Oriani Fallaci, but articles and various comments similar to this have changed my mind - I guess that she's grown more politically mature.

Also a good argument for a national Vermont-style carry law - the police and other security personnel cannot be everywhere and, more to the point, people and buildings known to be unprotected will be the ones that are targeted. We need to confront this grave threat to our way of life with a modern version of the militia that the Founding Fathers envisioned.
